If I was a BMW customer with a service plan, contract etc etc. Then I wouldn't expect the terms to include I have to keep driving around with foul-mouthed drunks and general louts in the passenger seats.

Obviously there wouldn't be any such terms as BWM would go bust, and the option there exists to pull over and toss them into the first available ditch (bliss)

With these sites it's put up with them or go elsewhere. Easy decision as ADVFN imo is the worst financial site on the web for it.

If TW wants to publish incorrect articles whilst calling investors 'bulletin board Morons', then this site is going to lose many subscribers.

TW talks about free speech, but in his comments sections, he has filtered out comments from Steg and others.

He can't have it both ways.

I too interested in another provider although I don't pay for this one - my broker provides free streaming prices and everything else so subscription here is superfluous. Although being 'blue' is a reason for not being susceptible to a ban LOL! I try not to upset decent folk though. I enjoy 'lurking' and the general banter and obviously the intelligent and valuable research posted here.

Cyber

The main sites are all the same. I found a disclaimer line on another site, deep within the small print that made me realise it's can be all about protecting BB use for their own benefit.

E.G. A financial site may have a material interest in a company share price so may control the BB to protect it's own interest.

Links to this site have been pointed out by others.

BB's just seem to be ad click revenue sources, so the more trolls create havoc the more revenue ADVFN get, and we wonder why they allow it to go on. :-)
Moderation of BBs costs money and reduces revenue(ad click revenue)

Bears only target active BB's as there have the PIs to scare off to create the share price moves they desire.

Take PURE, it continues on highs and the bears go on about it, but the BB's are dead so they have no one to manipulate.

ADVFN won't give a damn about who leaves etc, but it costs less elsewhere, and leaving the site entirely helps on the ad revenue reduction bit by bit.

I hadn't realised until recent comms that some previous regular posters have completely left ADVFN and don't view it, although still invested in certain shares.

Long may that trend continue. :-)

Superg, what are your reasons for wanting to cancel your advfn sub? Failure to tackle trolls? Which other providers are you thinking of? Are all BBs not infested by trolls?

lo

I thought I'd join the exit brigade, have been meaning to for some time. ADVFN in quick time already offering discounts. The fastest email response I have ever had from them

Little do they know one or two have been chatting to other providers for a mass exodus. :-)

I didn't hang back on the reasons.

A laugh from yesterday re a site that I saw that reports 'news'. Some had been caught out over a mining story, but the media site disclaimer is clear.

It goes something like.

'The reports on this site are fictitious, any content that turns out to be true is purely coincidental'

I can think of one or two sites that probably could do with that disclaimer.

Not necessarily, Roundup - if they keep the price low, you can buy more shares at a depressed price. It only becomes a problem if you are desperate to sell.

N3 and his party are very active at the moment; now I know they are not out to help the share price to recover. so what is the motive for all these postings. Yes, you've guessed it--to destroy the share price and make sure shareholders lose money. They are the enemy!!!!!

Lance has always had a presence even through his 'illness' which makes it hard to understand how so many poor decisions were taken

Rugrat, sg1 et al.

Good to see the articles about the iodine market as a whole.
Too many mogadon artists bashing IOF which is still
only in post-startup phase if one is being realistic.
Companies this size and at this stage are bound to have teething problems.
They neeed to adjust to market circumstances which, as things stand,
can only be a huge +++ for IOF.
It'll take time anyway.
