Quote post all the news.

' I can do a lot more from the position of chair than CEO'

I was obvious all along that Lance and Chris clashed, well we just witnessed the state of affairs while Lance was away and the prior chair 'doing his job' (or not it seems).

The Executive Chairman is responsible for:

1. Leadership

1.1 Leadership of the board, ensuring the board's effectiveness In all aspects of its role and setting of its agenda;

1.2 Leading the company in its relationships with shareholders, financial institutions and commentators;

1.3 Networking across current and prospective major customers, and providing contacts or introductions as appropriate.

1.4 Effectively positioning the company with customers and partners to facilitate domestic and international expansion.

It feels so much better that the Chairman and particularly the CEO have substantial shareholdings and interests that are now firmly aligned with the other investors!

Today's developments suggest that we can be certain that IOF will put its best foot forward in the forthcoming water hearing with no risk of George Lantz et al srewing it up through their now legendary lack of attention to detail! It is also highly likely that a JV will be waiting in the wings if it is successful.

Recent developments are clearly encouraging. Based off what may end up being a conservative 400mT target , a 10% reduction in the $6.2m admin cost base and $1m final cash outflow for #io6 , I have IOF as cash positive for the year driven by margin improvements through 100% in house supply of iodine. That doesnt include the 4Q13 slipped deal which shipped in 1Q14 ...$3m ? Clearly that provides furthur upside along with any furthur cost reductions.

No need for cash call in my mind suggests IOF can bolster cash by getting beyond 400mT this year . The RNS states 'short term operational challenges' so pointing at reasonably speedy resolution to the supply issue so hopefully we see 2H production kicking in from the new units.

That should lead to a solid platform for FY15 when the business seriously starts to leverage up.

Oklahoma lease forum

Does anyone know the going rate (bonus & royalty) for a brine water lease? Iofina has offered 3% royalty, $2.50/gma. While I've done lots of leasing, I've never done a brine water lease. I'm not concerned about language of the lease; but am curious as to the going rate. Thanks!

We always said Jeff and Lance are the guys that look after the pennies.

When it came to share options rather than add dilution Jeff and Lance gave 250k shares each. Now they have cut there salary to £1.

There may be the odd one out there (I doubt it) but can anyone tell me a share where large holders gifted a chunk of shares to others to avoid dilution, or the £1 route.

Dcgray, I hope they will get admin costs down substantially more!!

Cyber

That's been the whole problem. I hear a load of unneeded middle management were brought it. Thus since the return of the new chairman, Greyhound have been busy outside IOF offices ferrying away excess staff that appeared mysteriously.

So yes costs will come down.

Re plant costs, I can see you guys doing the break down. Such matters will include services connections and a list of other connected matters.

Brine lease royalty rates. I heard 3% and somewhere on the web a lease owner was talking about IOF offering 3%. I will see if I can find it.

Historically the other iodine producers in OK shafted lease holders with set payments way back, which was not popular.

cyberbub - Also some long-termers who took a short term punt doing the same thing. It was well on the cards that these two would go so buy on 'rumour' sell on news would be the maxim for some.

added minutes later - 'dropped back' about 5% whilst I was typing. Do well to remain blue today.

I suppose there may be some people who bought the other day at 22p getting out with their 100% profit... long-termers will know there is more to come... GLA NAI

Nelly,
Just think of all the disused O&G pads lying around in a year or two that IOF can takeover for brine extraction, didn't the company recently say they were looking at it?
They will be no use to the oil companies, but valuable to us. The market is heading our way.

Great news and well done Lance . My cash flow model had 10% savings off the $6.2 m admin line so that does the trick nicely .
