Some will sell stock now and hope their ISA buy throws off a bit of change.

What I want is for that selling to trigger SB margin calls and associated selling.

Then a bad news RNS to keep the selling pressure well on.

SG1, sorry mate but can you explain a bit about licences for iodine. Does each IO plant require a licence? Is there a limit on licences or other known impediments? Tia.

How about pictures on the website of
a.tanker trucks backed up down the highway at the entrance to IO1
b.a 100t heap of iodine next to IO2
c.(and this is the serious point) a picture of IO3 site under construction- sometimes seeing is believing.

'I have received 25+ emails today regarding this issue and I will be discussing with the Board how to appropriately handle the situation'

So maybe you will get a reply later.

In other words a number have had a good whinge about lack of PR. It would seem appropriate in all the recent circs to have an update to advise how things have gone since the AGM. There was obviously a lot of drilling action going on at the time of the AGM which involved the shutting off of some old brine to achieve that.

It would now be 'nice' to know, if new brine has been added to the io2 pot to improve production rates.

An io1 update would be good too, as it was said that io1 would be looking towards higher brine rates and production. While I don't care too much about io1, evidence of any progress is welcome.

It just seems important at this time, when IOF is making the transition to a significant iodine producer, that they release timely and appropriate updates.

Post io4 running we can probably talk about other aspects of iof.

Oh by the way, I still waiting to see what true oil say about their well. It is relevant to IOF imo if it turns out to be commercial.

169 still seems the one to crack properly, then around 125 (rising) support ... but there are better chartists out there, I'm giving a rough idea only.

off topic - just wanted to thank superg and others for the explanations about the other board. Didn't want to say it on the main board as it has fortunately been put to bed, but since I don't have anything to say at the moment, I didn't want anyone to think I was just walking away in a huff.

Also, I know it's too late, but just as a bit of info, the iii SXX board also has a private board which it uses via www.keepandshare.com - they keep records of all relevant documents there (broker notes, maps, etc) and two discussion forums (one for geologists and one for the rabble minus undesirables for posts that shouldn't be in the public domain). It's just another website to bear in mind as another option if anyone should ever want to set up a private board anywhere else.

I got a reply from the ir email. Sam replied, it sounds like they have had a number today, you guys probably.

All looks very good from what I hear, but I knew that. I did send a number of emails in various directions on the importance of PR updates, should there be material changes.

All they said in the AGM update rns re new brine, is that it would become available at the end of the drilling campaign. That was a little vague, and in questions it seemed the new brine wouldn't be too far off.

It seems from recent comments on here and elsewhere that new brine is available and in play to some extent. I have no reason to doubt that, so in theory production should have increased. They may have a different view now, on timelines to update investors re any increased production.

So it's just a case of patience waiting for an IOF update, and good use of the filter button.

Hi Test,

Agreed, pumping seawater 72 km uphill can't be cheap! I don't think the common ion effect will have a significant effect on extraction volumes though, given that sodium iodate is very water soluble ca. 950 g/litre* and its concentration in the caliche is only of the order of 650 ppm.
Edit: Oops 95 g/litre!

Just a matter of waiting for the information. I would rather have a positive rns that is precise with as much information as reasonably possible. We do not need a vague rns. It seems a win win situation at the moment for me, If the news comes out over the next day or two, the price should rise and failing that, I hope we do not receive news until after August 5th, so I can pop some in my ISA.

I think SG said earlier today that he had sent an e-mail to IR. Lets hope he gets a reply and can share this with the board.

I am not sending any questions to the e-mail address to save on duplication as I await the reply to SG's email.

roboben..fully agree, we are in the process of becoming one of the largest iodine producers in the world with the lowest costs.
nothing has changed with the fundamentals.
lets see where we are in a few months.
I'm looking forward to it.

The lack of news is disappointing, as is the current share price movement, but at least there's no suggestion of anything seriously wrong at the company.

There's no suggestion of dishonesty among the directors.

There's no suggestion of fundamental problems with the proprietary technology. Quite the reverse, it's now proven to work.

There's no suggestion of contractual problems in the core business.

The "extras" are still there in the background.

This still looks a rock solid long-term investment.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the share price pick up on August 5th and beyond even if there's no news by then. I think this will be one of the shares that experiences sudden demand as soon as they can be put into an ISA.

There's an awful lot to look forward to beyond that for long-term investors. It's just a matter of gritting your teeth and clinging on for now.

Waffling on again, but again on the retail side, margins are very tight for cleaning products.

The cost of an advertising campaign for Tesco, probably wouldn't cover any gain they could make in sales. Then of course it would affect sales of their others products if people switched.
