Just before the fun begins, I notice that there was a buy for £10000 odd on 3 shown at 1707hrs. Could this have been made with knowledge of the water news or is it just a delayed trade?

Exactly my thoughts bocker, they would not even hint at a JV until such time the application is fully granted & in place. So sometime within the next 15- 60 days imo we will have the granting of the water permit news along with news of a jv partner for the water process.

Che

The original Hal deal, was 50% of revenue, and 50% ownership of Atlantis. Re 100k bpd in both Mont and ND (that deal never ended).

That was at a time pre the expansion of the Bakken we see now and pre any interest in hot water.

In the last few months oil companies have taken a big interest in the slick water method, and old completion method back in play. They are seeing 30% to 40% increases in production. oasis tried it in Eastern Montana and were surprised by one well.

“Early production results from our first Three Forks slickwater well in Red Band and a slickwater Bakken well in Montana are expanding the completion technique’s applicability across more of our inventory,” said Thomas Nusz, chairman and CEO of Oasis. “Both of these Oasis wells are producing 35 percent or more over comparable wells completed with our base completion design.”

Oasis are developing their own mid services division including water, so watch out for them potentially taking an interest.

Slick water involves huge volumes of water and up to 5 times what previous fracks used.

Festario,
Thats outrageous, why is it so low?

Better get my opposable thumbs in gear :-)

Woods, you got your trigger ready? Don't think the shotgun approach will work, better get out the machine gun.

The water JV is almost certainly negotiated and agreed as subject/conditional to permit award.

I like how they put the news for tonnage update and water together. That's classy. Unlike QPP. They drip feed the news and play with the market. I remember when RT used to tweet on Friday 4.31pm about an RNS to be released on Monday.

Now we have Mr Big's comments....

Is this why you thought IOF would be 125p towards end of summer?

When I spoke to Gary in March, there was a lot of interest in the water application from outside parties.

A JV will probably be already negotiated, if not, all they have to do now is show the plans and the letters of intent, it's not a risky venture.

Haliburton must be high up on potential partners.

I admire act for his single minded pursuit of nonsense !
Well done IOF management on nearly 30t - I think we forget how much iodine this is !30,000 kg .
The water permit is big news and worth probably 75p a share .
Well done on everybody who held their nerve - patience will be rewarded

Hurricane,
I'm glad someone else thinks the water business is worth 100p on its own.

"Even if I'm out 50%, it's gotta be worth 50p per share, I don't think the market quite believes the significance, judging by some comments"

This is where the brokers, and IR team earn their keep - it's their job to get in front of the insti's and help them to appreciate the significance. I think that they should be put on notice that their contribution will be assessed, and ongoing relationship dependent on said assessment after this game changing news..

IOF have to implement it though, and that's why I suspect preliminary talks will have been ongoing. Lance sticks to his knitting and the news of the intended JV route tells me that the delivery has now been significantly de-risked.

I think water could be worth up to 100p a share, eventually.

You now have two profitable business streams for the price of one, which wasn't properly valued in the first place.

Iodina business smashing last years revenue.
Water worth more than twice the current market cap atleast

Wow. What a fantastic update. I expect they will inform the market about the JV once we have got through the 30-60 day objection period. I agree with others comments that the JV has already been sorted. I think the company simply doesn't want to be seen to be counting chickens before the objection period has passed.Nearly bought some more shares last week. Will top up today. It will take several days for this to sink in so I am sure whatever I pay it will seem cheap in a months time.

What is a JV 50% stake worth for the water?

I'll say one thing, I think it's worth much more than the $15m we were rumoured to have been offered previously.

Semps

When we next bump into each other I won't take the P re the clocks going back comment.... honest :-)

I haven't a clue where the share price will go, the market can be mad, but I doubt there was a lot of building pre that news and it has caught the majority cold.

I did say if we have 6 plants running, and get the permit with the chance to buy shares under 75p, what a result.

Funds may inquire about the fund raising on water, but I think, as stated in news it's highly likely they will JV with a big player, there are others that were sniffing when Hal were around.

One of these I suspect... Hal, Select energy, Oasis and a few others.

I also suspect (and nothing more than a suspicion) that they have a JV already in discussion .. I mean, you would, wouldn't you.

Hot water pumps confirmed, they produce profits at a rate of around 700% higher than cold water.

Water business worth more than the iodine business by my calculations.

On iodine, we should have been trading at 55p on last weeks results, water is worth 8-10p EPS on a full year split 50/50 hot/cold on my rough calculations, I could be wrong of course, I haven't seen what others think.

Even if I'm out 50%, it's gotta be worth 50p per share, I don't think the market quite believes the significance, judging by some comments.

👏👏👏
