the loaned stock isn't massive - 2m shares?, neither is the ennismore position - in total 3% , fundamentals will move this much higher, so don't rely on a short squeeze. I think 25p of the shareprice rise will be the realisation that they are not going to raise funds - this was flagged to everyone when the steno bond got re-done on attractive terms.

If Ennismore wanted to close they have to source the stock they shorted from somewhere.

They can either buy back in the market ( unlikely ) or source a seller such as old mutual and do an off market deal.
I suspect Mr Big's broker will have done an off market deal?

That's a reason why I was seeking the identity of the fund that has loaned the stock out.

If Old M are the sellers and are down to levels suggested to me then the churn rate will see the end of that in the not too distant future, I'm sure Mister B has friends as do PIs I know.

Not quite sure re L and G, but they will stick out like a sore thumb re the stock loan guys should Old M be out.

The point being and the questioned asked, is if they wanted out, would they have to recall the stock first. IE, Ennis have to close out and get the stock back in purchases.

Just a question I don't know the answer to. Anyone know how that works.

Could be Old M of course and already closed for all we know. The basic short chart (link in the header) seems to suggest not a lot has changed except perhaps a little jump when it was announced EK was in, then a dip back of the same amount when Mister Big declared in. Perhaps EK closed, oh and if that little peak is the short of EK, it is a low level punt, and rightly so, as the bear bail out topic is complete BS.

Superg,
Yes, the rise here should be swift to the 70p level, simply because the current price is completely backwards looking, not forward looking.

Current run rate on three plants is over 7mt a week, that should double this month, waken wakey Mr Market!

Edit: knackers just seen your post, so we both think 70p coming soon :-)

I think you might be right...chase the profits show the market what we can get out of the plants we have...then push ahead with everyone onboard for the next batch of plants...along with the water etc etc...we do have a water expert on the BOD as of last month, he is not there to make up the numbers! Over sold big time...only way to go now is up from here...bought some more this morning...I did say last night on here that you had to be up early to get anymore at 51p...

Festario, well IOF is horribly oversold at these prices - beyond capitulation! Given the normal, fairly illiquid stock action, any change in sentiment triggered by further positive progress - inspection results/water permit etc, I can see 70-80p range reoccupied within weeks.

Recent high volumes t/o of stock was a technical trigger for many to now go long. A large technical/forced seller has been 'outed'.

Che

I sit re timing.

Lot's of digging going on re the supply, and personally when MB says he is buying more, I start to wonder how much of the supply is left re one particular supplier.

Supplies can often be guesswork but certainly a few think Old Marlborough have been the dark hole from where supply had come from.

As of yesterday v what they had v what is thought may be left, then at these recent churn rates it may not last long.

Funds will sell for many reasons which do include tax year considerations.

So if we can put some more colour on it, re amount left then I'm happy to join in on any squeeze as it is over-done.

In the drop I'm sure much of the churn was down to stops, and forced sells, but more recently just down to a basic supply. 2.5 mill of which Mr B took out, I have no doubt re that claim.

It doesn't take many enthusiastic PIs to shift quite a number of shares.

I know one broker was waiting for dilution and instructed clients to hold off. BUT like Mr Big I believe that isn't happening. If that was happening io7 to 9 would be cracking on. It seems obvious to me, they are consolidating getting the ducks lined up for the next move on.
They don't know yet if they need to plan for a water depot expenditure, so a good idea to hold off on io7 to 9 until that is known for sure.

Whilst I would like to see a sustained rise here, I still believe a period of flatlining is more likely. It happens to all my shares which fall from grace, particularly in the resource sector. Hope I'm wrong.

che - yes, and that's excluding Water Permit. (here's hoping after 4 years hard work, a positive result emerges - if it does, Water could easily be a core business for Iofina)

Tide turning - Ennismore short beginning to lose some of those profits : )

Greed will cost them.

This is firmly on the turn now IMHO, what a bargain this past week.

P/E of 25 on this years EPS means 125p, we are growing iodine production and EPS at twice that rate, what a bargain.

125p not achievable yet, but it will be when the company demonstrates the consistent growth quarter on quarter.

Che you wrote "This one may not affect miners, but if I were a copper or iodine buyer,I would be increasing my buying in case there is disruption."And perhaps thinking of changing your supplier in the long term. Mr Big if Yellowstone goes up it's not worth talking about that would be catastrophic. Rns saving it all up for a biggie.
