Freshvoicem does it matter?
What matters is that it wont be long before all those IOF employees will be getting out of bed ready to grow the company a little bit more. We are the lowest cost producer we have protected patented Technology. The World needs Iodine and there is a market for us to sell in to. Its not as though we have to create one from scratch e.g Mr Whippy selling ice cream to the Eskimos. We have 4/5 virtually ready to go, 6 is being built. We are increasingly de risked.

My house price fell in value I didn't panic and sell I carried on living here, now the price is recovering. The same will happen here. We just need the market to wake up and smell the coffee and we just need IOF to turn on the information, communication tap...so they need to smell the coffee as well. As I said yesterday when I posted I am cross with IOF because they seem indifferent to the share price and I am cross with GL ... but there's the thing each day they develop the business, each day many here stare at the screen getting themselves in a lather.

Should I be getting more exercised, perhaps. I choose not to do that because their Business Model is good and they are still a young company who have much to learn and are learning on the job. We get cross and frustrated with IOF apparent lack of delivery but the world wasn't able to meet the deadlines it set for dealing with the Chemical weapons in Syria much to our shame.

The 19k mt going down SWDs mentioned in 2012 should have increased as drilling has increased because of the boom. Some wells will have declined but overall i would say a increase in brine going down swd's.

Thanks sandbag.

Hmmm so it is extractable then! Can see now why Lance thought mobiles could be big!

Meadow perhaps but we can't know that because Lance is no longer there. What I do know is that I am disappointed with their apparent indifference concerning the share price and communication to the wider market. I don't doubt the business model but I do offer them constructive criticism.

Bobsworth,
Ref your post 17045.

" Noted in your second post on costs etc there is no mention of iodine extraction from SWD as a revenue income!!!!

This is surprising as SG1 says "IOF calculated 19k mt going down SWDs in OK per year"!
=======================
I have previously posted my surprise that the oil companies aren't telling each other about the savings to be made by allowing IOF to extract iodine. (Or to be correct, I can find no evidence of this).

Iofina presentation of December 2012 shows on page 8 that there are 19,000MT annually going down the drain. It doesn't actually state in OK so I believe this is nationally.

For the sake of a few quid I would prefer the company announce monthly production figures rather than quarterly ones going forward?

Meadow: Agree 2014 has become the base year for IOF. Just hope the base share price is right now ;-)

It's been suggested on here that the water go ahead would lead to an end of any cash flow fears. (Not quite clear to me whether the logic assumes a cash upfront JV or real water sales further down the line or both.)

However I would have thought that all I04/5/6 production would mean real iodine for sale and that would generate cash faster.

On a cautionary note there are two factors slowing cash flow from iodine production, both mentioned before but perhaps worth another run:

(a) the need to build up stocks/inventory to demonstrate continuity of supply to potential long term customers

(b) the one off cash flow impact between IOF Chem paying 2 months in arrears for overseas iodine and customers paying IOF 2 months in arrears for IOF's raw iodine.

Maybe most of this is history and will be absorbed in 2013's results, already guided as not great.

But I04/5/6 production will take at least 2 months to convert into cash (although believe that sales which have been delivered can be booked in the accounts).

This is turning into a bit of a ramble, but the killer point is when is our first profitable month going to be?

June 2014 would be my guess, but sure that others have worked this out more reliably. Any thoughts?

Yet more red here today I see. Certainly nearer the sixties than the eighties now. Never mind it'll be £3 by xmas according to the more optimistic rampers. More likely to be 30p at this rate. What a fantastic short this share has turned out to be. Never fails to deliver, day after day with very few exceptions.

Good post.

Yes the Chile circs are all longer term aspects that those putting in the hours should in theory benefit from in the future.

Go back about 18 months. Top analysts were talking about piling into the Chile boom. Yet on this share there are clear posts to warn anyone with investment in Chile based companies that the pointers due to rocketing costs ,with water and power issues would start to inflict pain. It has been severe.

The water and power issue was quoted by the last government to go on for many years. That topic hasn't changed.

Power costs will continue to rise yoy, water is becoming more scarce, demand going up, strikes continue (as shown in recent ports strikes)

Ansana. Upon reflection, I think that Lance might well have over-reached himself and the company could not have produced much more than they are doing now. After all, the technology is new and is still in the development stage with enhancements being made with each new tower built. It would seem that 2014 is the base year from which steady growth will spring - I hope. Even if/when the water permit is obtained, it will be some time before financial benefits begin to flow.(No pun intended) Expectations have surely been hyped beyond practical common sense in the past.

Fresh I think their needle is stuck on the word simultaneous. They want to rns them both as operational. They think this will impress the market. It might a bit but If I am right they are missing the point. What will impress the market more is a steady stream of positive announcements that show as you say they are hitting their own stated targets. As a one off its easy to superficially impress, what the market needs is confidence in the company again. That confidence will only return when they start communicating their achievements, deliver and sell the product. So IOF you may be in Denver thinking you are doing a marvellous job but from the point of view of the investors that you need, your communication skills leave much to be desired. GL you have a duty of care to your staff and your investors, and you should be last in the queue not the first. By all means take the pay cheque every month but please find a bit of passion and get out of 2nd gear. We have consolidated long enough lets get motoring. Rant over, nothing personal George I just wish you could be more like Lance not Lantz.

Thanks sandbag for the visual explanation of SWD.

This is surprising as SG1 says "IOF calculated 19k mt going down SWDs in OK per year"!

Superg1: As IOF are aware of the mt associated with SWD what plans if any have they highlighted to recover this iodine? Is this a job for the mobiles or is the ppm too low to be economical?

Well given that IO4 was supposed to be have been ready before start of march, and they were supposed to be getting better at commissioning them, if we don,t get an RNS saying GO next week they will have to have a good excuse or Shonny's forecast of 60s will seem like ramping.
I wish they would hit at least their own reduced targets if not those of the original company plan!
