Regarding north OK brine management I dug up an interesting piece from a few weeks back. It looks like Devon are getting in on the act too.

hxxp://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jan/27/oklahoma-drillers-look-to-reuse-produced-water/?page=all

EDIT: Favourite quote: "In Devon's case, the ratio of oil to produced water in the Mississippian-Woodford is, on average, about five barrels of water to one barrel of oil, Matalik said. However, in other parts of the Mississippi Lime formation it can be much higher, Stowers said. In some places, companies get about 49 barrels of produced water for every one barrel of oil."

Angel: school rather than college I think - ie somewhere fairly basic. Then at least they would be able to learn arithmetic and be able to do some simple sums, which is what is required if you are invested in any stock, including IOF.

Some people haven't got the 'nous' to go long nor the 'bottle' to go short at this level so become saddos on boards like this. Grow up or go to college or something to fill your sad time!

The rampers will have to find another excuse for todays poor share price Yesterday it was due to the overall fall in the markets. Today the markets are up and IOF is down again.

Seems like very little stock around to buy this morning.

edit, plenty now at 77p, those AT trades are strange - they are SETS aren't they?

Quote all over the place.

I think that the limitation on the the use of the new swd design will be that they have been around Woods and Alfalfa for some time and have a comprehensive swd infrastructure already in place. It will be put into greater use in Kansas where less drilling has taken place relative to the size of their leaseholding.

Spot on Rug

Sandridge energy the large acreage holders in OK. It's in their conference call recently.

They talk of the Chester level (part of Mississippi play) on the West side of their acreage where they believe there is prolific oil, and have a large acreage.

An area where they have a good sized position where historic horizontal drilling for oil is virtually absent. Their geologists think they have found something exciting.

The relevance being to IOF being that in the questions they identify Woods county where the io plants are.

Clearly that area is the iodine hotspot, but as we know from reading other sites, the hotspot is all to do with an ancient river delta.

They confirmed the general OK water cut as high as 90%. As you state they also have a new SWD system to announce with 3 to 6 wells per SWD. The way I see it, with such apparently localised SWDs, then if there are iodine hotspots in the Chester then dilution by numerous wells with little iodine in is less likely.

Bob I fancy that I could win a one liner contest no problem, but I try to avoid those.

1MM. Absolutely correct. My assumption is that SD's new design is to put a shallower ( than previous practice) vertical swd well on each new multi well pad, so no pumps or long pipe work runs, with associated permissions, etc.

It just remains to be seen if IOF have the ppms/leases to be able to take advantage of the design, where it is put into practice.

Rug - We have been told in the past that iodine concentrations vari significantly between wells that are in close proximity to each other. Normally IOF would get this mixture on it's route to the SWD plant. So if they are going to have more lower capacity SWD plants, then IOF could be far more selective wrt what brine it actually processed. This would make IOF far more efficient, reducing operating costs plus if using mobile units then that would reduce capital expenditure as well. Win Win, assuming that the brine does have good ppm 's.

rogerbridge,

There is a helium board. There hasn't been a post for some time but it would be useful for research.

Sg IMO there will be two particular items of interest at the New York AGM.One will be the Chester formation of the Mississippian which I guess is what you are alluding to - potentially an important formation for the operators, to be accessed from existing well pads, with existing infrastructure.

The second will be their new, lower cost swd well design, which will handle probably only a handful of producing wells as opposed to up to 20 or so with their current design. Whether or not that will have a bearing on IOF's future plans remains to be seen. It could lead to a concentration on mini plants if the low cost swd wells appear in the right places ppm wise.

Noli, do you know if the helium processing facility is adjacent to the IOF acreage?
We could have a nice little JV or farm out possibility in the not too distant future.

I understand why you share your research a lot less. Fingers crossed Iofina will get us through these difficult times and we will get back to normal very soon.
Pleased to read that you are very happy with prospects and please keep those informative posts coming as they are much appreciated by the vast majority on this board.

Hi Bazzerp

"Don't think I would want to invest in a palm oil mill."

Is that for environmental reasons? The good thing about DKL is that, unlike many palm oil businesses, they're operating in a demonstrably sustainable manner and are sourcing the majority of their palm oil fruit from local small holders and cooperatives. (This has had the benefit of allowing them to begin production much sooner than would otherwise have been the case.) As they expand they will grow more of their own palm oil fruit, but only on existing agricultural land. DKL are part of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil.

As well as being a promising business, what I also like about the company is the way they will continue to benefit the country/area they are operating in. This is evidenced by the tax exemptions that have been granted to them for the next few years.

Continental are the largest acreage holder in the Bakken and have recently spudded at least 2 horizontal wells within a couple of miles of IOF's proposed water terminal....

As a complete novice to investing and BB's such as this it is quite obvious to me what Maca's and co's intentions are and the motives behind them. I cannot believe that anyone would take any notice of what they spout and make a decision whether to buy or sell based on their drivel...I can't deny that the share price is under performing at the moment but it certainly isn't to do anything they have "contributed."With regard to the latest scare tactic to put off investors, lack of demand for water in Montana, that is why revised letters of intent are being provided to the DNRC isn't it? Iofina will show there is the demand and that will make up part of the information required to enable the DNRC to make their decision, which I'm sure will be to grant the permit.
