22/2/2014 16:46 | N3tleyLucas - 16240: Yes, but you are so quick with the defensiveness you completely miss my point. But wear the cap if you want lol RLOL - I haven't been in the least bit defensive since I very clearly pointed out that you can believe what you want to believe. Also, your post didn't contain any point for anyone to miss. It seems very clear that your modus operandi is based on innuendo - make totally unfounded allegations about another poster, such as "long-winded posts" and being "defensive", and then just deride them. | ![]() masurenguy

22/2/2014 13:36 | We will agree to differ Masurenguy - shares in issue and who holds them is irrelevant to price movement if they are not traded. They may as well not be at the party. There were 260,644 shares traded in IOF on Friday - I would say if I dumped a few hundred thousand yesterday it would have had a huge impact on price. Are you saying because there are 127m shares in issue it would make that trade insignificant against the volume actually active in the market on Friday? The only significance of 127m is it determines the market cap. Sorry, it's not me wearing the naive hat. ;-) | ![]() uppompeii

22/2/2014 11:36 | uppompeii - 16232: Really? You dont think scrutable getting closed on hundreds of thousands of these had any impact on the sp, and the domino effect of many others suffering margin calls at the time this was a one way ticket made a jot of difference? Come on! In a word - No ! So what if he got stopped out on a few hundred thousand shares - with 127m in issue that is very insignificant figure. There are at least 9 institutional/major shareholders with above threshold declared holdings that account for 55m or circa 43% of the shares in issue and probably quite a few more undeclared below this level. The liklehood is that at least 60% or even more are in the institutional/major shareholder category. If you think some random PI trader getting stopped out on a few hundred thousand shares will have any meaningful impact on the price then you must be very naive! superg1 - 16233: Masure, That's exactly how it works on some shares, if the BB is busy and grumbles appear, I'd argue that it becomes easy for them. As I've already acknowledged - it can affect a small, illiquid, non-institutional AIM stock but not a company with a market cap of over £100m, some 127m shares in issue and with probably less than 30 shareholders controlling circa 60% or more of the shares in issue. | ![]() masurenguy

22/2/2014 08:42 | Do you really think that with the possible exception of some very small cap, highly illiquid AIM shares with virtually no institutional shareholders, that a bunch of anonymous posters on internet bulletin boards can have any meaningful impact whatsoever on a company's shareprice. Either you are just being very satirical or you must be smoking something that is very strong indeed! | ![]() masurenguy

21/2/2014 14:57 | Whilst we're skimming stones I'd like to make a play for good news on 3rd March. Ha! Anyone else? It would be tempting then to perhaps go further for more news at the end of March though I don't see why Iofina should post us often. They're timing estimates have proved wrong but I'm no time lord either and they have done nothing else to mislead us, have they? Correct me if I'm wrong. | ![]() dontshoutatonce

21/2/2014 10:10 | roundup, yes, I agree, news vaccuum has let the shorters out without penalty. That's a shame, because there is plenty of news they could release. I also know the Chemical division will have a good Q1 and the Chemical division will have a strong year thanks to legacy contracts. Still, we are at the bottom of the trading range, the market is waiting. Just look at ZZZ yesterday if you want to see what unexpected news can do in this market - up over 100% in a day. Bull market for now means unexpected good news will make a swift move in share prices. | ![]() che7win
21/2/2014 10:01 | Looking at the 3rd Feb RNS it says that from 30(th) January 2014 meeting with the Montana Department,Iofina have granted 60 days to provide clarity to its addendum, presented at the meeting alongside revised letters of intent etc. 60 days from the 30th Jan takes us to a 31st March deadline. Three weeks on already from that meeting, lets hope Iofina have already provided clarity to its addendum presented at the meeting. Question then is how quickly will water board rubber stamp it. | ![]() bobsworth
21/2/2014 09:59 | Shonny is taking advantage of a vacuum of news. We are depending on the company's management to make sure the likes of Shonny is curtailed in his activity. Sadly, so far management have made it possible for shorters to make at the expense of us share holders. Let's hope this situation isn't allowed to continue. | ![]() roundup |
