Bobsworth, re 13752,

Did you get CAPEX and OPEX muddled up?
I think Bogg1e told you mobile CAPEX is about a fifth of a big plant, not that the OPEX is about a fifth

Anyways this is dropping again. I see my re-entry being around .60. I managed to get out at 1.30. Missed the cut off that day to buy back at 1.31 but next day it was 90p so thank god. This will rise but there's more dipping to come yet.

Bog thanks for that info on mobiles

If Capex is 1/5th ($4/kg) compared to fixed plants and they are a lot cheaper at £400,000ish each, less expensive to install and can produce up to 150mt of Iodine each then lets hope Iofina decide to roll out an army of them in 2014.

Good details there and the key points-:

The first

'If it is determined that one or more criteria have not been proven and the DNRC is unable to modify the application, the DNRC will prepare a draft preliminary determination to deny.'

IOF in the rns said-:

The application will require additional information, primarily with respect to offtake engineering and beneficial use of the water.

On the engineering side 'offtake engineering' considering what we know, surely means the water bureau considers the engineer's plans are not sufficient to withdraw the daily amount for water requested. So all IOF do at the hearing is supply a revised plan with bigger pipes/pump or whatever the engineering design needs to meet the standard. Thus I don't see an engineering fix as an obstacle.

The second part is in relation to beneficial use. Well in relation to use for fracking, that is all legitimate and fits the criteria needed. My theory is that it's something to do with the Hal deal, as that forms the largest part of the beneficial use letters/intent to purchase that IOF have.

If I was asked to bet on it I'd go for the Atlantis water solutions Hal JV as the part that may be confusing the bureau, and needs clarification. I have explained that one before. AWS was registered around Nov 2011 in Delaware and imo at that time as they were moving towards a JV with Hal on water, the AWS registration included Halliburton in the business. The water sales deal was completed before any of that. There was also another registration in a similar name which I think was to do with the JV that never appeared. The Hal deal was in two parts, an up front payment which meant a revenue split on the water, equally, in other words hal go the water at half price, but paid for the depot and all associated costs.

Part two of the deal was a 50% ownership of the Atlantis resource, which is probably what the second registered similar named company was all about. It was something like Atlantis acquisitions corp or LLC, it registered just after AWS and by the same agent that did AWS.

So if it is that, I'm thinking the bureau want to make sure Hal are a customer not a partner. We know that to be true, Hal are not a partner, they are a customer.

I can't think of any other reason, so that is my best guess. We will soon know once the hearing is done, or IOF announce what the queries relate too.

The last part is mentions the DNRC being unable to modify the application.

Well they can't really if they consider the engineers need to change something, or chase beneficial use data on behalf of IOF. So they have raised the issue, set the hearing option in motion and IOF provide the evidence to support the award of the permit, based on the query raised.

If it's anything like what I have mentioned above, then I don't see any problems at all.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

But it has not been rejected, just queries raised, IOF then provide supporting info for the permit to be awarded, and bureau make their decision.

The final part is self explanatory-:

If the information provided is adequate, DNRC will create the preliminary determination to grant the application and the application will move to public notice.

the Investec note Dec 17 takes the recent RNS and notes where this confirms or modifies their previous report, confirms outlook as largely as expected, and updates financial numbers on a second page by about 2%. If the iodine price were to stay down their forecast share price would be dropped to 190p but the closing of capacity in Chile suggests to them that the price will recover,(as does the BOD)

The note confirms what experienced investors have been saying all along that the future is merely shifted.

It is clear that bad mouthing by short sellers has worked again, panicked the timid, and driven the price down to a ridiculous level. Investec's forward eps of 23p (2014) and 33.7p (2015) makes IOF by a long way the cheapest industrial growth share currently available on the LSE/AIM
