Your right Lib, but 237 is an unlucky number in Chile. It's the cost of producing a bag of iodine in 2014.

US20110110846 was the subject of a final rejection by the US patent examiner on 04.02.2013. No further action has appeared to date.

The three other IOF iodine extraction patents of which I am aware have also been the subject of final rejection decisions, but in two cases, so far, requests for continued examination (RCE) have been made. I do not expect any news soon on these. There is a considerable backlog on processing RCEs at the US patent office and no time limit is set for reply.

pcjoe: Ngoc-Yen Nguyen is one of the US patent examiners in involved with these cases.

Unlike me to put a dampner on things, but I think 250 unlikely. Suspect we'll see gentle rise to 246-248 and then it will be pegged back to 238-240 by eod.

Just waiting for the iosorb patent now, I presume that old one is for the WET system.

IOF picked up a few other patents for the methods Arysta used so that blocks the Arysta method too, not that they could make it commercial, but there will be some aspects of the process that may be useful

SG1 totally agree, if there was an iof employee of the month I think Dr Becker and Dr Khalev would be both in the running.... :-)

Keep your eyes on Igas Energy (IGAS currently circa 104p). Potentially billions of cu ft of shale gas under the UK.

Shale Gas in place in IGas' North West licences of up to ca.170Tcf

IGas, one of the leading producers of onshore hydrocarbons in the UK, is pleased to announce the results of its studies of the Lower Carboniferous shale, including the Bowland Shale, under its 100% owned licences in the North West of England, an area of 300 square miles.

This company has been getting and is going to get a lot of publicity.

S Mo

Thomas Becker is a clever fellow. I do wonder what the new products are, but suspect they are electronic etching gases used for computer chips.

I wasn't looking for patents at all, I suppose some words just trigger other pages.

Thanks SG.

I note that the inventor is one Charles A Schneider. and he is ... well actually 'Founder' of ... Iofina Chemical. That's probably quite useful, I would think ,0)

Best wishes - Mike
