Engelo. With Lance leaving the board he is now a PI in IOF. If we include him on the "friendlies pot" its around 29M in total, real shares held. :) Seems various peeps have taken the opp of the recent turbulence to increase their stakes here.

Ansana: well done on your add :-) Always difficult re timing. For myself I'm a closet chartist (ie don't know the science but listen to those who do and ALWAYS look at the chart myself.) Sometimes use the guideline 'buy when you're afraid to do so' :0)

Definition of ping! term used in the submarine fraternity. A submarine usually operates in "passive mode". Basically means it sits there and listens. On acquiring a target and wants the correct range and distance for a firing solution it will go "Active" - ie - send out a "ping" using ( for those interested :) PARIS 2020 or 2026 active sonar!)

The bad news is that once a ping goes out - EVERYONE knows where you are and is generally only used when you mean business! Translating to IOF means the balloon will definitely be going up!!!

Apologies for lapsing into the vernacular! being an ex submariner I couldn't resist it! :)

engelo, interesting; last prelim announcement 07/05/2013, annual report 28/05/2013, agm 19/06/2013 then the next date is 17/09/2013 for interrims. But if you think hurricane is hinting at something, given the regard others hold him in, i shall keep my eyes peeled.

Boggle: if you look at last years' RNSs you get a clue as to when Q2 normally comes through. Being lazy. Certainly they have some discretion.

Boggle yep: we do need to trust the BoD in many ways, and will need to listen to them too in a T/O context.

However it's the shareholders (including those on the BoD) who will ultimately decide. NOrmally would be wrapped up by the holdings of the BoD and the instis, but in this case the PIs have quite a whack....

Battery?? What's the latest? I have a few more to confess...

engelo, are the BoD obliged to release results in september or can they technically release it whenever they choose?

Happy to. The only problem is we are both with talk talk; the Email will probably get swallowed up in some black hole in their system before it gets to your inbox on the same server!

Re ping time: superg was the first to use this (quoting Lance) and from memory this was 2 months from AGM ie August. The some said it would be the publishing of q2 results which would be September.

Now I think Hurricane is saying sooner than either of these :-)

There will of course be some action due to the anticipation of ping time: perhaps where we are atm.

roger, im happy to go along with the BoD, they are the ones who are doing all the hard work, we just sit back and feel clever for having such a good share. If they want to keep the company growing organically then great, if not the accelerating growth factor is a strong bargaining position for the BoD. I am very encouraged by the lifetime of projects, because each operation is a long term cash cow, it would be intersting to see how much future value can be added to the takeover price.

Boggle: my post was simply about where best to locate OT posts about other shares.

Since you mention it, i am very grateful to Scrutable for the hours of hard work he has done on analysing IOF over many months and for his willingness to share it with the rest of us. (This of course also applies to superg and at least a dozen others on here.)

I also appreciate those who share their mistakes and misfortunes, which others can learn from!

Re what the board decide on T/Os Scrut is ahead of the game (as you need to be) and has been seeking to dissuade the BoD (and fellow PIs) from selling out in the near term at almost any price using his own knowledge and logic.

For myself I am in listening mode until 'ping' time!

rh, indeed. The top end of calculations i have for end 2014 and it is the most extreme value in the range i could come up with, is around £8 per share for iodine on a pe of 10 (i prefer low p,e's - if production is missed on a higher pe than 10, this is not reflected in the estimated values, if you know what i mean?) And a little bit more per share for the water in montana. I estimate if everything goes really, really well and production targets are 150% higher than the low ball figures dr Fay stated at the agm, we are looking at £15-18 per share on pe 10. So on a pe of 20 you would get your 30 squiddies per share. A very justified figure imo, if not 2014, then definitely by 2015.

Boggle,

I have suggested this on the Tipsters thread previously but if you are keen on QFI take a look at SZYM on the Nasdaq. Similar Partners, markets.

DYOR and good luck.
