Wow. Doesn't look good at all for SQM. Another Petrobras type scandal by the looks of it. The workers will sense management weakness and probably go on strike to add to their woes.

I have forgotten what the latest is on the even more corrupt Cosayach. Don't they own hundreds of millions in taxes and also owe truckloads to a European Bank?

There must be a few multinational chemicals/manufacturing companies worried about the long term supply of their iodine right now. Especially as Chile is turning into a Banana Republic....or maybe has been one all the way along.

Well if things are on track with decent Q1 production then it seems daft to languish down here. However we get it but the market doesn't.

I look at some on 100's of mills MC and no revenue, then some with 100's of mills of revenue and below £50m MC, it all seems nuts, because it is nuts.

Another has an MC of about £6m but has 10 potentially lucrative products launched.

What matters is if funds are buying or selling.

If we get the permit and a decent Q1 then the funds will be buyers I suspect.

What I like about the SQM situation is that it's all triggered from fraud. Unfortunately now the new CEO is at some point going to have to tell investors exactly what has been going on re iodine production, so that lie has yet to officially surface.

There looks to be a class action of investors going against SQM now. Their wheels are really coming off at the moment.

The original short call was $31, and I meant to following sending details to the analyst. It was when he realised I wasn't suggesting they were lying, but showing him the lie from their own accounts.

I bet he and clients saved a few quid. He owes me a pint of Butty.

My guess is the edge has been taken off their exciting announcement to be made at the AGM.

Unless of course the announcement was to be that they were to be escorted to and from the meeting by riot police.

$250k on a note, something like that.

The potash trio should have followed this thread and they would have said the below a long time back.

A very strong statement make from 3 that were on the BOD.

"Chile today does not have the conditions for the company to do what it has to."

As we said they have no back up plans as they intended to move.

The hint at other problems isn't a surprise at all. Yes I think there is serious trouble ahead for them.

Now let's see if end users start to panic and build inventories just in case.
