Definitely beating the average bounce back.

Does anyone suggest a reason?

Streuth - Got stopped out around 395 to protect a healthy profit. Should have bought them all back at 380. What a buffoon.

Hi Boozey. I was going to buy some trading shares here yesterday,on a short term basis, but it seemed a bit perverse to try and profit from other peoples miseries.

Going well today though, hopefully we've seen the low point.

Mo, INVP are part of the FTSE 250 which has been in reverse for a few weeks so I sense it is just tracking the index. A firm hold for me here.

The precise number of shares to be distributed to each shareholder will be confirmed in a separate announcement, say March 18.
Still reckon thats around 93M shares, which gives a great return. Can't figure out why anyone would sell at this price.
Dir's have been piling into N91, so shares look like a solid hold or a quick cap gain.
Sell the news I suppose.

Of the 25 FTSE250 FTSE100 companies in the sector "investment banks" - INVESTEC has
the second-best NAV as a percentage of Market Cap (eg it's second cheapest).

I see the Dirs of N91 are still buying shares.
INVP workers in SA return to their offices this week because of a big fall in covid numbers.
Surely can't be too long before we hear about the sale of the above shares?

Examples of the basics to get started.

Should have added that for every .25% (25 basis points) rise in int rates, the net int margin (NIM), will in general, increase by around 6 basis points.

Financials (banks etc) benefit from higher rates. More profit.

Not sure why, maybe they get a bit more margin.

Why are interest rates going up good for Investec?

JOHANNESBURG, Jan 27th - The South African Reserve Bank has raised its repo rate by 25 basis points to 4.00%.
Just need the BOE to raise their int rates now. Lovely jubbly!

Going by the 2 year gilt sell off. Mkts pricing in 3-4 int rate rises this year by the BOE.

Good recovery over the past couple of days. I don't hold N91 but of course take an interest given the Investec stake in it!

Ninety One PLC - South Africa and UK-based money manager - Forty Two Point Two, a company associated with both Chief Executive Officer Hendrik du Toit and Chief Financial Officer Kim McFarland, buys 2.3 million shares in Ninety One PLC, mostly at GBP2.60, worth about GBP6 million, about ZAR122.7 million, on Monday and Tuesday.

Investec's eventual remaining 10% stake in N91 should continue to do well, giving the above Dir's buys this week. Not often you see Dirs buying £6M worth of shares.

Morning Boozey

Just read the N91 short report. Good to see them continuing to attract investment, AUM up 10% from a year ago

Mkt should stabilise once we are passed peak scary inflation figures in a couple of months.

MM's like to mess around with this one in times of increased volatility.
Forecast EPS is unchanged at 49-50p for the year ending March 31.

Investec 4.4% dividend yield and market cap worth loads less than its NAV and it makes a
decent profit and PE ratio of just 10.5%. Sounds good to me.
