Everyone knows there's not a mog's chance in hell of any dividend, however small.
The company is hundreds of millions in debt with virtually no assets.
Hopefully the extension is only to give the administrators a chance to make a case for putting the past directors in jail.

deltrotter knows this, so his sentiments go with crocodile tears.

Don't waste your breath.

Most likely no news, merely another extension similar to the one granted at roughly the same time last year. Good news for the administrators of course who will continue to earn more fees from the matter!

A new 'Notice of extension of period of Administration' has been posted on the Companies House website. The document is still being processed and will be available in 5 days.

Crikey, never been called a rubbernecker before!!!

That is one heck of an accusation.

Having been EXTREMELY lucky (there was zero skill involved) and fortunate to get out of Afferro with a profit, and thus not had to go through the pain and suffering you guys have, my intentions here are pure.

I want you all to at least get a few pennies in the pound.

Cheers

Personally, I do not find rossannan's post offensive at all horneblower.

Strewth, we all need a little hope around here after what we have been through.

(Hope all is well with you.)

I am pleased to find this thread. Thank you for the information. I, sadly, hold about 900,000 of these worthless notes. Is there any way to write the loss off against income tax or only in the capital gains/loss account ?

horneblower may have worked out that these assets are not the administrators to dispose of until the issues of potential criminality are satisfactorily dealt with. The involvement of Gueant, Cooper's Liberian civil war record, IMIC's financial dealings with the Ablyazov crime syndicate through the Niel Group of companies and the involvement of the Libyan Foreign Bank don't make this the easiest of situations in that regard.

As a reminder, the administrator recently wrote:

"Part of my duties include carrying out proportionate investigations into what assets the Company has, including any potential claims against directors or other parties, and what recoveries could be made. I have reviewed the Company’s books and records and accounting information, requested further information from the directors, and invited creditors to provide information on any concerns they have regarding the way in which the Company’s business has been conducted.I can confirm that no further investigations or actions were required."

That doesn't rule out further investigations and actions being conducted by someone other than the administrator.

Former IMIC adviser, Claude Gueant, has been stripped of his French "knighthood" and "OBE" equivalent. Embezzlement; who'd have guessed it?

ross. No, I know my shares are worthless (defunct and unlisted) but I also am almost certain that my 8% convertible non transfereable bonds are also worthless because they rank far down the list of creditors and it would take tens of millions of pounds before they reached me.
Do you see tens of millions of pounds coming into the coffers?
