30/3/2007 16:36 | I don't think there's any aff. stuff in there at all - no tracking that I can see - I think the orders just go straight to the small shops as if they were suppliers. Nice if it works, they've obviously got a passion for the business. Hope they've managed this sort of arrangement before - being the middle-man between retail customers and a largish group of suppliers isn't easy, practically or legally. | ![]() yump
30/3/2007 16:28 | Is it just a superaffiliate, then? They claimed it was different, but don't they all? Joining Fee The Joining Fee to be paid once at the time of submission of the Application Form is the relevent amount agreed in writing between NOTHS and the Member Partner and is subject to VAT. Subscription Fee The Subscription Fee to be paid at the time of submission of the Application Form and then again on each Renewal Date is the amount agreed in writing between NOTHS and the Member Partner at the time of joining and is subject to VAT. Transaction Fee A fee of 3.6% (or such other amount as may be notified by NOTHS to the Member Partner from time to time) is payable by a Member Partner on the value of each transaction made through the NOTHS Website between a Member Partner and a Buyer in respect of the costs of sale of NOTHS in respect of such transaction. The Commission Fee is subject to VAT. *NOTHS will refund monies paid and received by them in respect of sold goods which are subsequently returned by the customer and authorised for refund for good reason by the Member Partner in accordance with clauses 6.11 to 6.16 of the Agreement. The transaction charge orginally made on any refunded purchase will be retained by NOTHS. | ![]() aleman
30/3/2007 15:25 | Aleman notonthehighstreet appears to be a shopfront for a collection of small(ish) companies, not an affiliate based site. Perhaps a drop-shipping arrangement. If you follow the products through and hover your mouse over them you'll see the url has things like ../partners/somecomp Quite interesting. My guess would be flat fee for company to put products on notonthehighstreet and then some sort of % on order. Be interesting to compare final cost to the individual companies of a sale vs. cost of using affiliate marketing. Effectiveness presumably depends on how much notonthehighstreet spends on marketing its site. They'll need plenty up front I guess. If there's no flat fee then the individual companies are in a no-lose situation if they've already got a business running. Online equivalent of a gift shop that just buys from lots of small suppliers, except that it might not keep any stock. | ![]() yump
30/3/2007 14:33 | Supersturrock - 30 Mar'07 - 12:08 - 1287 of 1289 Are these daily reach graphs on the thread header telling us something or is it just seasonal ? IIUC from previous explanations here, the daily reach figures are per million visits to all the sites on the web. Since web usage is increasing significantly AF's daily reach figures may go down even if the number of visits to their site is constant, or even rising. But there are many people here who know much better than I do! | spacecowboy3
