510p? its more like the stock price halving in price and more. It will be a bloodbath everywhere with the airlines and cruise-liners getting the biggest hits.

Death toll rises as virus spreads to every Chinese region

It will be something we've never seen before (and that's typical of the markets!) and I have a bad feeling about all what's happening!

If the Chinese stock market re-opens on Monday and the deaths keep piling up it won't be pretty.

When the bears get stuck in to IAG they really go for it, got it down to 418p last time.

British Airways suspends flights to mainland China for a month

But this is not my real fear - my real fear is that it will hit Europe sooner or later!

It is a time bomb.

Here is Carnival - the cruiseliner operator which owns the Italian ship

It is not about exposure to the Far East. The virus could easily spread to Europe - if that happens most airlines will cut flying to the bare minimum. There would be draconian measures taken like we've never seen before.

Investors hate uncertainty, but they are not worried in IAG case, 8% exposure to Far East.

this flu thing is going to get ugly!

this is a time bomb - carnival down 6% - it is only a matter of time for the virus to start spreading in europe, then european airlines will take one hell of a hit.

I'm amazed these are not around 550p, investors not worried obviously.

Assume the next set of load factors due early next month already taken as being impacted...this suggests that the market accepts this reality and that all will recover once the Chinese virus issue is resolved. Also people have seen/taken into account the global deaths from ordinary flu, which happen every year, and are pretty high. Whatever, still a nasty problem and hope resolved asap.

Indeed but that will impact all carriers, everywhere.
I note that Virgin are still flying to mainland China, which might be viewed as irresponsible.

How about the flights that connect onto China, no need for people to book, still has a impact

Cancelling mainland flights to China not really a major problem for a company the size of IAG.

I see Boeing slumped to their first loss in 20 years, the 737 Max problems will now cost the company nearly $19 Billion -
