Excellent trading share - shorting seems to work most of time - I normally short after a 5-8% rally.Still it's not that easy to make money, but works well for me.Good luck all.

Agree with uncertainty.... but “the last time” you are talking about was after early 2000s recession and 9/11, airlines shares weren’t popular anyway.

Brilliant investing strategy !!
Let's try and loose as much money as possible as quickly as we can LOL

Investors hate uncertainty, and this could be worst than bird flu, no one knows, last time airlines and travel shares got hit big time. Of course Easyjet and Ryanair will be ok.

I am not expert, it may well be a serious disease. However, after a month of outbreak, 300 people got the virus out of 1.3 Billion population. It is a very tiny percentage. Air China dropped 3% as a result but IAG dropped 3.3% ! Over reaction or a rational move?

According to Daily Mail:
“ The first patient, a 61-year-old-man, had abdominal tumours and chronic liver disease. The second, who was 69, had severe cardiomyopathy – a heart condition, abnormal kidney function, and seriously damaged organs.

Details about the third death have not been revealed.“

As of Tuesday, nearly 300 people had been diagnosed globally, with all but a handful in China, and most of them in Wuhan, a city of 11 million people. This has sent jitters among travelers as hundreds of millions of Chinese are prepare to travel for the Lunar New Year holiday this week.

The holiday is traditionally a high season for tourism and retail industries in China and overseas, but confirmation from health authorities that the virus spreads through human contact and calls for heightened vigilance is prompting concerns that many will opt to stay home during the week-long holiday.

The travel booking platforms said that Chinese civil aviation and railway authorities had still to set a special cancellation policy, but that they would try to meet the needs of customers wanting to cancel their trips.
