Options expiry today, new positions should be put on later this afternoon, has the old positions expire. Lets hope the bulls come in on new long positions, if they do, easily over 552p later. In my view.

'who would the BA pilots go to for Union support ?'

Pilots don't need union support. They are not downtrodden exploited labourors but highly skilled, highly mobile, highly professional individuals who should be man enough to look after themselves. They can walk at any time. They are bosses, management if you will.

OK, they're not, but they bloody well should be.

Apple.......BA have offered to re-instate staff travel after 12 months. This seems reasonable to me , as the pilots have cost IAG 120m to date.

If BA did not continue to apply the consequences of pilot strike action (removal of staff travel), then there would be little point in imposing the staff travel removal in the first place.

Employees would strike without ever believing the threats from BA would be applied and if they were, not to worry as 'they will always give them back' after the strikes have concluded.

You say BALPA would be finished BUT who would the BA pilots go to for Union support ?

How can anyone bet 95% no strike when it is a simple 'strike' or 'no strike'...

I agree to the most, but needs not too repeat so often...I agree with him (mh) that there is a lot of money waiting on the side lines to invest in IAG for their income stream and very low P/E ratio. However, they need to see the current dispute with the pilots resolved amicably...if that happens then I believe that we will see a further positive re-rating. I hope the more astute pilots have been adding to the holdings, and seeing the dividend income growing through their ISA's etc. to their children's/family benefit.

But with the 2010 dispute the loss of staff travel was around a year with mixed fleet it was alot less it's just a bargining tool used by the regime and they don't exactly lose any money by putting in such penalties. This dispute will not be resolved until penalties are taken away from any agreement otherwise BALPA are finished as a force with lots of members resigning membership.

I would bet 95% no strike, going by how well shareprice has held, always someone knows more than us.

Apple....if you are told that if you go on strike you will lose staff travel and if you then strike, you should not be surprised at the consequences.

Didn't they learn anything from 2010 ?

What I'm told alot of disquiet amongst the pilot community with the penalties handed out like staff travel and excessive deductions so I can see this rumble on a while and what I hear Xmas turmoil seems to be the best option to force IAG into sorting it out.

Just as a reminder the BA pilots mandate for strike action expires in January 2020. So not that long to go, saying that 'the silence is deafening' from both parties given recent press reports.
