2016 IAG expectations < Analysts expectations
Probably conservative, but I decided to shoot first and ask question afterwards - for a change.

In 2016, IAG expects to generate an absolute operating profit increase similar to 2015. Revenue trends in quarter 1 appear broadly in line with those experienced in quarter 4 2015.

Not what the analysts have in their spreadsheets.:-(

These results are in line with our recent target and have exceeded our original 2015 operating profit target of EUR1.5 billion that we set in 2011. It's undoubtedly been a good year but it's also been challenging with extreme volatility in the currency and fuel markets. The benefits gained from lower fuel prices have been partially offset by the stronger US dollar

oh i will don't worry. You're dead right, oil prices aren't going north any time soon. The fuel hedging must be the easiest job going. The expensive hedges are gone after a year of low prices, the analysts must be pencilling in monster airline profits going forward.Broker estimates for this stock could be revised even higher.Thank you Saudia Arabia,Iraq,Iran,Russia,Kuwait,Qatar,UAE,Nigeria et al.Keep on pumping.

Good question -- results should be good, but I can't see the shares rising much more than 10-15p.550-580p I reckon.I am not even thinking of the downside - bad strategy that ...

I can't see how they can come up short of the £2bn profit forecasted. The monthly traffic stats have increased on y/y basis,no shocks or surprises there. The only weak link could be the Iberia performance.Spanish market off over 22% in last 6 months,so maybe a let down there, but if on Friday we get poor performance figures i am out of this company.Risks are too big in this business to sit and twiddle ones thumbs waiting for some payback.

If Jim Cramer says once more that falling oil prices are great for the consumer, consumer spending and the airlines i will go to Bloomberg. In the present febrile nature of markets, this isn't happening.I would love someone to explain why IAG is tanking today. It tanks every day there is a dramatic oil price fall.

With oil falling,it all adds to the bottom line.Carnival share price was clobbered by the Zika virus scare, and i know their ships don't fly, but their shares have seen a solid bounce this week. These two travel stocks have quite a good correlation so with a fair wind we might see two up days from here in anticipation of Friday.

As another thought,it is known that sovereign wealth funds are selling wholesale to bank-roll their expensive domestic social programmes because of hefty oil price falls.Does anyone know if the Qatari's are selling any of their 10% stake in IAG?

IAG shares have gone nowhere in a year.I know 1bn went on acquiring Air Lingus and there were a lot of share buy-backs,mostly at the top of the market, but despite the recent Zika virus why are the shares lanquishing with oil at $30pb! I've noticed that when the oil price fell, either IAG shares treaded water or sometimes even fell when logic dictates that with the supposed inverse relationship with this share and the oil price the share price should rise. Then when we have witnessed an oil price rise then the correlation kicks in and sure enough the IAG share price tumbles. Is it the old legacy issue of the pension fund acting as an anchor on this share? Most broker recommendations have been targeted at over £7 for most of this year and yet they've never got near that price. Are we whistling in the wind,or are we gonna receive a nice dividend present on Friday for our loyalty here?Failing that, what is the point in having any investment at all in this risky business!
