Oil up for 8 days straight, IAG perform very well on that. The nearer 29th March gets, the more nervous airlines investors will get.

I would also add here, that IF it was the case that IAG had to buy out non eu shareholders, there is a problem.

You will recall, that UK shareholders who have their shares held in a nominee account, are unable to claim back Spanish withholding tax because the shares are held in nominee accounts and NOT in the name of the individual.

Now, IF the Spanish authorities are not willing to pay back the hundreds of millions of spanish withholding tax because individual nationality of the UK shareholders cannot be proven, then they cannot identify those same shares as being ones that have to be bought back by IAG because they are in UK ownership.

IF they can identify the nationality of shares held in a uk nominee account, then I would argue the many years of Spanish withholding tax and hundreds of millions of euros held by the spanish authorities should be paid back to those UK shareholders.

You can't have your cake and eat it !

I think the option of buying out non eu shareholders would not be a viable choice.
To be honest it would probably be discriminatory, apart from really really annoying it's non eu shareholders.

Surely they don't want it, sell the stake if they can, talk before was of a 1.3 billion pound bid. No way Willie.

Oil seven straight day of gains, as arabs cut production, talk of back to $80, lets hope IAG hedging at these low rates.

My preference would still be for IAG to dump the Norwegian stock and pick up the pieces when and if they collapse.

Easy jet would be a better bet BUT I have no doubt that they would demand a much higher price.

Shareprice holding very well, with the uncertainty over Norwegian, will they or won't they and of course Brexit getting nearer.

Always seems a bidder, normally shareprice falls. But do you think Norwegian would be a good target.

Monty - you do not mention the impact of price paid for Norwegian on the share price Surely the price paid will be a huge factor in determining whether the share price will crash or not. How can you say the share price will crash if a bid is made without knowing how much he would bid

I think you can fairly say, that if IAG bid for Norwegian IAG share price would fall big time, thats my view.

Walsh wouldn't overpay for anything let alone Norwegian and I have no doubt that he wouldn't buy an airline that he couldn't make money out of.
I think the cost savings , slots and aircraft will provide substantial benefits to IAG.

Hi montyhedge there is no way to predict the share price if they bid again for Norwegian.

Paying over the odds might see the share price below 500p whereas a revised bid at a reduced offer price would see this share over 700p again in my opinion.

The share price is being held down by the uncertainty around Norwegian so IAG withdrawing their bid would also see an increase in share price.

In summary any price is pure speculation unless you have inside information on the next price bid by IAG.

Predictive text of course bid not big, lol. Disaster if they bid, for Norwegian. I see 550p if they made a move, looks like they will, they already got a stake in Norwegian.
