American Airlines rose 2.1 per cent, Delta Air Lines flew up 2.6 per cent, Southwest Airlines added 3.6 per cent and United Continental Holidays added 2.7 per cent at the close of trading last night. On Tuesday, Berkshire disclosed a $9.3bn (£7.5bn) holding in the industry and has spent more than $2.1bn each on shares of four carriers.
