10/12/2005 01:28 | Can't find any info about them. "pursuant to an agreement dated 7 December 2005"? An agreement with whom? Looks like a positive but more info would be good. | ![]() wjccghcc

08/12/2005 23:10 | I doubt management would sell. Too much potential at this stage in the evolving market. Also, given IGP work with all top 5 (now 4) smart card companies, it wouldn't be one of them buying. | ![]() wjccghcc

07/12/2005 17:58 | Oberthur The Next Target Unless It's Smart Wednesday, December 07, 2005 5:52:50 AM ET Dow Jones Newswires 0943 GMT [Dow Jones] Oberthur (12413.FR) +1.7% at EUR7.9 as market looks for next consolidating move in smart-card sector after Axalto (AXL.FR) and Gemplus (5768.FR) announce merger. "This increases bid speculation on Oberthur," says an analyst. Believes "either Oberthur merges or buys a smaller company like G&D," (Giesecke & Devrient) or Oberthur "will get bought up by a company like Safran (7327.FR)." (SIN) | ![]() ariane
07/12/2005 10:10 | Oberthur Better Partner For Gemplus -Analyst Wednesday, December 07, 2005 4:37:40 AM ET Dow Jones Newswires 0818 GMT [Dow Jones] Although Gemplus' (5768.FR) merger with Axalto (AXL.FR) creates an undisputed leader in the smart card business, a merger with Oberthur (12413.FR) would have been more attractive, says Fideuram Wargny. Reiterates hold recommendation on Gemplus with a EUR2.4 target price. Trading in Alxalto and Gemplus is suspended until 1130 GMT. Alxalto shares closed at EUR22.8. Gemplus closed at EUR2.3. 07/12/2005 09:23 | Gemplus, Axalto Tie 'Makes Huge Sense' Wednesday, December 07, 2005 4:07:33 AM ET Dow Jones Newswires 0745 GMT [Dow Jones] Gemplus (5768.FR) and Axalto's (AXL.FR) merger "strategically makes huge sense," says a strategist. Sees deal very good for Axalto shareholders because share performance has been "awful," but "not a home-run for Gemplus" shareholders. Overall deal should boost margins for combined company as it will reduce R&D spending and increase IT synergies for both companies. Alxalto shares closed at EUR22.8. Gemplus shares closed at EUR2.3. 07/12/2005 08:13 | Interesting. Intercede provide the basis for the card management software for both Gemplus and Axalto for corporate clients, though the Gemplus channel is the one which has been generating more revenues so far. Wonder how long it will take them to integrate their products. | ![]() wjccghcc

30/11/2005 11:00 | Wondered what had happened to Thales Safesign. This shows the applicability of MyID to the digital signature world - seems to be the next growth area in IT investment. "Thales provides secured PKI based authentication and messaging solution to the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange with help from Intercede's MyID Intercede's MyID to unite Thales Authentication System components helping the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange comply with Egyptian digital signature laws. Lutterworth, England, December 1, 2005 - Intercede are pleased to announce that Thales e-Security have been awarded their first contract under the OEM agreement that Intercede and Thales e-Security signed in April 2004. Thales e-Security recently announced that it is providing Misr* Clearing, Settlement and Central Depository (MSCSD) with a new security system designed to meet new Egyptian laws regarding the use of digital signatures for electronic trading. The solution that Thales is providing consists of a Digital Signature Solution, a Portable Signature Solution and the Authentication System. At the heart of the Authentication System lies the SafeSign Management Server, powered by Intercede's MyID smart card and identity management system." | ![]() wjccghcc
28/11/2005 17:18 | 45,000 sale at 23p. Someone taking a short-term profit on the recent contract news (and being stiffed by the MMs). Bit short-sighted if you ask me given the interims are within the next 3 weeks and should hopefully signal the start of some significant outperformance. Order and sales pipeline were at all time highs in May so, subject to contract timing, the interims should show a big improvement on last year. I don't think we'll see any revenues from the federal id rebadging yet given that the deadline is Oct 06 and RSA's card management product isn't released until next month but hopefully we'll get more news on the Gemplus, Athena and G&D channels. Personally, I expect H2 to be where things really take off contract-wise with it showing through in the numbers for H1 2006. | ![]() wjccghcc

21/11/2005 18:28 | Looks very good. I wondered why RSA would agree to guarantee them minimum revenues of $2mm. RSA is a big player in the US in particular. That makes RSA and Athena who are using MyID as a basis for their own CMS offerings, Axalto and Gemplus who are using it for their corporate offerings, Oberthur who are using it for the National ID card scheme and G&D, Siemens and Thales who are recommending it for certain projects. That's pretty much a who's who of the ID card world. It may take time for the revenues to kick in but all the signs are there for a significant increase in business over the next two years. Added a few more. | ![]() wjccghcc

18/11/2005 13:35 | with oberthur having well establish strong positions, in the id card market, the alliance in july, could lead towards alot more rewarding contracts. japan, france, phillipines, australia, and of course uk are all pushing for the national id card. the id card was pashed though, the house of commons, in october. and will go forward to the house of loyds. with all the worldwide terror problems, i don,t think any of these countries, would not dare though out the bill. say intercede would say only make £1 to £2 profit from each card, its still going to be a huge earner. population in japan, 130,000,000, france 60,000,000, uk, 68,000,000,. work it out for yourself, not bad for a small company with a 8 mill cap. with all this in the possabily in the future, the share price could sail past £5. i look forward to the day, when there are about 100 posts a day on this bb board. | ![]() igoe104
10/11/2005 17:29 | i,m very excited about the future of this company. i would not be at all surpised to see this company, anything from £2 to £6 a share; looking at its cap now, and its future pipeline. | ![]() igoe104

03/11/2005 07:27 | also if things go well with the id cards. there a huge amount of money to be made from them. uk . france. and japan. are all excepted to have the id card within 4 years. if they only make £2 profit from each card, in the uk alone that will be 130 mill, they will make. and thats just a start, not bad for a company cap of 7 mill. | ![]() igoe104 |
