Hardly big time buying, nearly 13,000 shares in 2 days, even for a tiddler like IGP

It seems someone has been buying in small chunks each day over the last few days so possibly a few waiting on the wings gearing up for results time??? They should make very good reading. With a month to go another contract annoucement before 31 march would really shake things up a bit....but I guess Im just being greedy now???

Thales appoints Michelangelo Neri as Division Country Director in UAE.

That annoucement itself tells me thales will be involved in the UAE id program, which means so will igp, as will as other business in the UAE like airport security.

PS gmoney i agree with your post regarding your post on possible up-grading of id cards in euorpe.

this is getting interesting regarding shares, it seems noboby is interested in selling, probably feel they will rise big-style like me in april, it will be intresting when the buying will start.

I reckon these could be in the mid-40,s before results come out.

Did you know 24 of the 27 EU countries already have ID cards. How many of these are biometric? my guess is none. therefore when they all come to renew they will need to upgrade. could take a while but it will come. UK is currently one of the three not to have a ID card but that is getting changed.

50,000 cards issued by the end of April 09.

This looks interesting.

I like this bit,
The event will see the launch of the launch of a global specialised ID cards academy.

As we know thales were involved in that demo, so it looks like thales and partners (igp) are part of the specialised id card academy.

Nothing's been disclosed as to margin. However, RSA paid $2mm in advance license fees to IGP over 3 years which is being redeemed by the first 1mm TWIC cards (it may have been adjusted to 1.2mm if I remember correctly). Assume RSA get a return of $3mm and it's about $1.50 profit per card plus maintenance and support.

twic contract was initially $70m . Govt estimated cost per card would be $139-142. lockheed delivering at £137-25 per card. still digging as to margin.

TA!lockheed will have a lot of leverage as its an important relationship but that works both ways of course. Without IGP they may well not win the business in the future. If TWIC is the worlds showcase example buyers will want like for like. I wonder what Lockheeds margin on it is. If thats good then IGP will score nicely. I ll have a dig

Nobody really knows pyman is the answer. Lockheed Martin/RSA and IGP had the agreement that would cover the first 1m cards and my guess is that IGP would go it alone with the remainder with Lockheed Martin. with the cards costing $132.50 each, 5 million extra cards would be unthinkable to how much money IGP could possibly make out of this with the 5 year licences. I think Lockheed Martin and IGP will have some sort of agreement going forward as they both seem to get on well now that IGP even supply Lockheed entire workforce with the same technnology.

Hopefully IGp get their fair share but how much this is - thats anybodies guess! All we know is it will be more than we get at the moment!

can someone remind me what the terms of the twic revenue share agreement were once the millionth card is issued. Reading back Mr Parish stated there could be as many as 6million cards- that was some time ago however.

I like the fact that UAE top government officals are attending, especially as they are having a id card system them-self soon.

IN his part of the world they have a end-less pot of money, so they wont be cutting corners when it comes to security.

ps

Its looking more and more likely that the mystery big national id card we are involved in (is morocco id card.)

Thanks for that link igoe.

I like the part where it says...

"...Thales will also exhibit at the Citizen ID Forum technology village, where representatives will be on hand to provide information and demonstrate the company's latest identity and security solutions, products and service offerings."

Showing off IGP efforts without IGP being there. fantastic.
Hopefully more contracts to come in the middle east area after this conference.

WE are already in africa involved in a national id project, probably morocco with thales.

SO here yet another project up for grabs, as UAE upgrades its borders.
