04/9/2023 23:30 | chessman - glad you're still here from the early days too! It was only me talking about a mini tree shake so you were being unfairly maligned! I sat with and advised a senior MM for quite a while some years back. Interesting to find out how little I know about broking according to our resident bolshy expert! I wonder why I accrued so many institutional votes in the surveys. fwiw I made a lot of money in tech stocks pre 2000 when specialising in oils was a mug's game. If you can analyse one sector, you can get on top of another. I had stints as a broker analysing utility stocks and chemicals when the respective analysts left. Insig is my only tech stock now (edit: and Eqtec) and I leave the wonderful Katie Potts to do the hard yards on the rest. I have holdings in about 15 oil and gas stocks and focus mainly on those and various miners, with a particular interest in copper. But in all I have 75 holdings, many investment trusts. And yes, it is too many to keep on top of! This is my last post off topic! I promise! | ![]() hiddendepths
04/9/2023 22:52 | PJ1, please pay attention as I don’t recall mentioning tree shakes. Hd and I, as well as some others are here for a reason. We have high expectations which hopefully will be fulfilled!! | ![]() chessman2

04/9/2023 21:47 | ''mini tree shakes'' is a total LOB....chessman ..you are coming over as bad as anyone here, !!! A tree shake is when MM's are caught short of stock to hit a ''limit order''. AS a last ditch effort to fill it and keep their margin profit, they drop the bid in the hope investors are 'scared' out of their positions and sell to keep profits. Once the limit is filled the the quotes revert back to normal, where savvy traders see the ploy aND try to hop on for a small gain Its obvious to me the so called self proclaimed experts here are nothing of the sort.... | pj 1
04/9/2023 17:33 | Good to read your views hd. I'm guessing the MMs are still short of stock in which case I expect to see further rises in the share price this week. Perhaps something is afoot? | ![]() chessman2
04/9/2023 17:05 | Judijudi - don't know much, do you? Do you use level 2? You get mini-tree shakes after a move up when MMs who are short come off the bid. Sometimes they move quite a way but the risks to the MMs are usually too great to do that in illiquid stocks like this one because you may well attract more buyers and the sellers don't materialise. But you obviously know all this stuff..... Anyway, in this case the buyers did not go away, which is very encouraging for hopes of further progress. Interesting thoughts about the AGM - I hadn't thought about that as a possible catalyst for the rerating. Good move on the chart today too! | ![]() hiddendepths
04/9/2023 13:01 | Rarely happens, having said that there was a very interesting RNS with the last AGM. A precursor to the recently announced fixed income return enhancing product. | ![]() banshee
04/9/2023 12:47 | How about some news with the AGM on 15 September? | ![]() churchharbour
04/9/2023 12:44 | The FCA's Greensprint multit-regulator tech trial that INSG are heavily involved in, and where a comprehensive update this month was flagged in the accounts last month, runs from the 5th June for three months (which implies it ends tomorrow or today), but there is also a showcase day for the project on the 20th September. So exactly when this month the update will be forthcoming is not entirely clear. | ![]() banshee
04/9/2023 11:06 | Looks like mm are in a short trap so let’s see what happens. Oh wouldn’t it be nice to get news whilst they are short 😂😂 | ![]() shrewdmole
04/9/2023 10:41 | Tree shake 🤣😂 We’re up nearly 7% currently | ![]() judijudi
04/9/2023 10:37 | PJ1 and judijudi - take a running jump! If you're not interested in a one-off posting of a former number one oil analyst, founder member of ADVFN, investor here for some years and someone who is most definitely not a ramper (check other threads if you don't believe me) just use the filter button. That's why we put it in! chessman - I suspect we may have found a level where there's a modicum of profit-taking by traders or stale bull selling. But it may be mm tree-shaking to induce a few sells. | ![]() hiddendepths |
