It's been answered before. He's an entrepreneur and felt like the corporate world was holding him back. So he wanted out to concentrate on other projects.

Retail is just under 50% of sales. So they're hardly struggling. They compliment each other both have different benefits and risks.Having both doing well derisks us.

"the primary concern remains converting DTC into third party retail."

Why?

They make much higher Gross Margin on DTC than they do on third party retail.

And whilst there have been concerns about how they capitalise DTC acquisition costs, as they start (hopefully) to make more and more repeat sales through DTC, this should abate as an issue.

Growth all round here, spending all cash generated on promoting the company is an excellent strategy, exactly how Amazon got to where it is today. I will be expecting a big jump in ROCE and ROE over the next 18 months. At 70p< this is great value.

This is definitely a share to TRADE ,not to hold. These are clearly the only people making money on it BUT at the expense of genuine holders. All water under the bridge for me now but proves what I had been suspecting !

The issue remains DTC accounting for the majority of revenue. As things stand, goodwill value of DTC sales (and associated "customer lists") is questionable - and the primary concern remains converting DTC into third party retail. The ~£10M market cap doesn't seem that far off; they will no doubt continue with DTC and related sales-marketing - but it remains a distraction. Either focus on (the products and) product-marketing or focus on retail-type sales marketing; not both. They're really not the same thing. Almost anyone can get some fake tan manufactured; stick it in a fulfilment centre; create a website and hey presto! They are now a marketing company optimising their online spend to sell their product. Unfortunately given how hard it has been to get people to buy the product in-store, even after they've bought direct, it seems that the product itself just isn't good enough to get past the DTC marketing stage. And for that reason; the long-term growth of skinny tan must be carefully analysed without bias. Growth becomes a somewhat-spurious punt on whether the other products will take off better, or end up going through the state (NHS for prolong; etc.), which is at this stage not yet likely or certain. It won't fall to zero but without getting past the majority-of-revenue-from-DTC sales (and the sales marketing focus) any upside will be limited.

Just a sceptic, lost money on this one two years ago, since then traded it as a short-term play, but I wouldn’t be the first and only one!
