Paul Lavin does not get the attraction here and thinks he'd be interested at a p/s of less than 1. That's wide off the mark imo but does put into perspective how crucial the 2nd half delivery is for IDP as already mentioned by many contributors:

There are a number of products circulating in Asia at the moment - mainly hair loss and colour. They could do very well over here, meaning SE Asia in particular.

We didn't have Boots Ireland or ASOS until June last year, and Lloyds followed later in 2017, so some decent sized retailers that will now be contributing for the full tanning season. Will be good to see Sephora up and running shortly as well.

Can we do 69% of our sales in the second half of the year.
I think so. In most seasonal businesses it wouldnt be unheard of to achieve 69% of sales during the busy period. I personally think we will make this goal with skinny tan, skinny tan professional and body glow.
Once Roots is added in I think we'll comfortably meet expectations.
Granted, Roots might only be worth a couple of percent but it'll help us along.

I'm hoping for new retail outlets for Roots soon.

Please do not get too excited about today's rise in the share price! It is all to do with the article in Momentum Investor so back down will go the share price. I have learned to think LONGER term with this share!

They're talking about expecting large orders. I'm guessing this would be mainly from new retail channels they are in discussions with. They probably have reasonable confidence these will happen and are therefore confident of making the numbers.

Think it’s going to be tough if based largely on UK sales of Skinny Tan & Roots given bumper sales last H2.

It’s possible that significant sales could kick in from Asia, USA, or Europe. Perhaps Prolong might get off to a vibrant start. Margins will be very high there and so eps could be achieved with <£13m revenue.

If they hit this years numbers the stock we be significantly re-rated and an element of doubt is priced in imho. I guess management won’t really know until well into the tanning season..around mid April.

They had an excellent second half last year. Management sounds very confident that this year will be similar. That's good enough for me. I'd say 90%.

With everything to do in the second half to achieve eps what do we see as the chances?

They seemed pretty keen on retaining exclusivity, so can't see it as a major issue personally.

It was very bullish about Roots which it says is now the No1 best seller on The Superdrug Website and Chaudhry believes Superdrug will roll it out to its full 800+stores while listings with other retailers are likely .

I subscribe to MI . Very full and position write -up and recommendation. It says the shares look oversold ( at 188p ! ) . Should be an interesting Monday . Would not like to be short.

Thanks samkhan50 that's good news - ironic given the appalling momentum since last summer! I was expecting a write up in SCSW in a couple of weeks so maybe we'll get a double whammy.

Last year MI also covered IDP in Jun and Aug. I received a free copy of the Jun edition and there wasn't even a mention of Roots which shows how quickly things can progress.

sk50 – thanks. Any little morsels, summaries of what others are saying, are always of interest! The small free float InnovaDerma has probably hampers the share price a bit at this stage - in terms of bigger players being prepared to buy in. So good to see HC raising the profile amongst PIs. Having said that it was very encouraging to see the Miton Investment group raise their stake in IDP - from memory to around 5% - at the placing last October. Once we get into the next FY - and the full range of brands coming through gets the prominence it deserves - my guess is more small cap players will want in. Hope so anyway!

It needs username and password so can't post a link unfortunately. It's a long write up focussing on ST, roots and prolong. They've spoken to HC too. MI is linked to SCSW and there's often an overlap between the tips.
