22/2/2006 10:23 | Well via con, the share price keeps going north if that's any indication. To be prudent it may be as well to wait until the results on March 1st before making any large investment though. | ![]() alan@bj
22/2/2006 09:59 | Good morning, I have a small holding in this company and if you would permit me I would like to ask an open question to the folks on this thread. As the instituitions are continually reducing their holdings, is it the opinion here that it is a good thing; giving added liquidity to the market, or is it indicative of a change in their opinion of the company as to its ability to deliver ? My motive for asking is simple, I am considering a large addition to my holdings and would not like you to think that I have less than honest intentions. I, thank you in advance be lucky cfh | via con

19/2/2006 15:35 | mick52, I presume you mean the March quote which is stuck on 341.50/353.50. The cash quote seems to be fine. I think you'll find that CMC's equity futures charts are not charts of the actual instrument but that of quotes and trades that they might make at any time. Presumably CMC have not been asked to quote on the March future since Jan 6th when the chart stopped. This does not mean they have forgotten it, just that nobody asked for a quote so no quote existed. Don't worry about it. Just ask them for a quote online and it will come up on the chart. | ![]() horneblower

07/2/2006 13:37 | Lovely share. A bit like AHT. The only way is up. Sometimes I'm tempted to leave all the dross like OXB, BPRG etc behind and just concentrate on stocks with good fundamentals like ISAT | ![]() volsung
20/1/2006 08:47 | The share price is hitting a resistance level at the moment. Hopefully it will break through and provide a new support for further rises in the very near future. The next few days will give the answer. | gadgetmajor
12/1/2006 16:23 | I've been buying since 280 but got out at 335, just waiting to get back in again, was waiting for another day of falls when it got down to 325 briefly, but happy to wait. | whipround

12/1/2006 15:24 | Horneblower, I would wait for them to settle down again before getting in, may be a bit of an overhang with a few positions needing to be untangled before stability returns. No desperate hurry imovvvho. | whipround
12/1/2006 12:58 | Good afternoon, I´ve been monitoring these shares on and off since the IPO, and I have been worried about the massive insti ownership and the problems inherent with it. Where as now the shares are better balanced with this placing, and should attract more buyers such as myself. BTW, well done to those holders and their profits ( or is it prophets ) who have shown more faith in this share more than I have done, with regard to the Insti holding Any way came across this in the f.t. Inmarsat's backers cut stake By Andrew Edgecliffe-Johnson, Media Editor Published: January 12 2006 02:00 | Last updated: January 12 2006 02:00 The financial backers of Inmarsat, the satellite company that floated last June in a controversial competitive initial public offering, yesterday moved to halve their stakes through a £280m placing. The placing of 80m shares marks the second time the investors - Apax Partners, Permira, Lockheed Martin and Telenor - have reduced their holdings since the IPO. After the float, there were 39 per cent of company shares in free float. The placing will reduce the investors' combined holdings in Inmarsat from 35 to 17.5 per cent. The shares were being offered to investors last night through an accelerated bookbuilt secondary placing - a process through which advisers gauge the level of demand before deciding the price and how to allocate the stock. JPMorgan Cazenove and Lehman Brothers are conducting the placing and the pricing and allocations could be decided as early as this morning. Inmarsat provides a range of data and voice services, including telephony, fax, video, e-mail and high-speed intranet and internet access, and was created by the UN about 25 years ago to increase safety at sea. Its shares have outperformed the London market since last summer, rising from an IPO price of 245p to close up 2 per cent yesterday at 355½p. The first round of share sales by the company's private equity and industrial backers was conducted last October at a price of 317½p. Inmarsat came to market through a competitive IPO, an increasingly common but controversial process in which a company appoints a group of competing investment banks but delays the decision on the formal appointment of bookrunners until a very late stage. The technique is so new that the Financial Services Authority wanted to look into it. The successful candidates are typically chosen on the quality of information provided, estimated valuations and indicative support garnered from investors. However, critics suggest this can result in aggressive pricing, leading to poor after-market performance - a concern not borne out by Inmarsat's stock market performance. | via con

11/1/2006 18:28 | LONDON (Dow Jones)--Inmarsat PLC said Wednesday that JPMorgan Cazenove and Lehman Brothers International (Europe) announced Wednesday an accelerated bookbuilt secondary placing of approximately 80 million ordinary shares, representing in aggregate approximately 17.5% of the issued share capital of Inmarsat. This is subject to demand, price and market conditions. The proposed sellers of the ordinary shares which are the subject of the Placing are funds advised by Apax Partners Worldwide LLP, funds advised by Permira, Comsat Investments Inc., a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin and Telenor Satellite Services AS. Whether the placing proceeds, the number of ordinary shares in the placing and the placing price will be decided at the close of the accelerated bookbuilding period following agreement between the Managers and the Sellers, and a further announcement will be made by the Managers at that time, the company said. The books for the Placing will open with immediate effect. Pricing and allocations are expected to be announced as soon as practicable following the closing of the books.
