Focusing on the yield is silly. Its like saying "the yield is unsustainable at 10%, therefore the share price needs to double"...

We will find out on 9th March. If the dividend was sustained then the current yield is an implausible 10%.

I was reviewing the Goldman note and they were saying capex would remain elevated until 2020.

I will be amazed if the dividend is not halved at results time. I think the more interesting question is whether it is priced in already. I would say it is and unless the top line numbers are weak I think we are putting in a bottom.

How SpaceX plans to bring speedy broadband to the whole world

"All this means you won't be jacking into SpaceX's network anytime soon. In fact, Musk says the full service probably won't be up and running until the middle of the next decade"

The Original Goldbug - "as most people are still very underwater on this one."

Yep, 'fraid so, just checked CEO and other directors buying a month ago, just hope they know something we don't. Maybe the results (when they come out) will give some good news.

As usual, I started buying several days before I should have. Nice to get back to breakeven finally. Nice recovery even in a flattish market.

ISAT has always been best in class I have used their kit for many years, now it will be integrated with GMDSS ,which will mean a whole bank of receiving/transmitting equipment from other suppliers can be replaced savings for ship owners will be huge no other supplier can match this excellent news windjammer.

dex,

Thats hype/hope value, the markets preferred valuation method when there is no divi. But once you start paying a divi, the hype/hope premium disappears and you get ruled with the same ruler as every other divi paying concern.

Why do people assume there is a direct correlation between dividend and share price here ?

Maybe in a mature, predictable (boring ?) business which exists to pay dividends (eg Marks & Spencer, National Grid, GSK) and where people buy them for the dividend yield. But Inmarsat ?

What is the dividend yield on Tesla ? Or Netflix ?

Just Eat has a market cap over £5bn and no yield whatsoever.

Either the dividend will be cut or the price will rise from here.

You pays your money and takes your choice.

A 10.41% yield? Seriously?"

What should it be then ? And on what basis ?
