23/8/2022 13:44 | Does anyone know the exact date results get released? (past years suggest this week, or next) IOG's "upcoming events" page does not provide any clues. | xxnjr
23/8/2022 13:39 | In the blue now even with my highest priced top up on first gas @39p but still this seems significantly undervalued vs peers. The ATH looks to have been around 43/44p close at around first gas which should soon be exceeded imv as long as we don't get any negative newsflow. | bountyhunter
23/8/2022 12:41 | Energy giants Total Energies and ENI reported making a huge gas discovery off the coast of Cyprus. The find at the Cronos-1 well in Block 6, 160km off the Cypriot coastline, involved a well encountering an important gas column in a carbonate reservoir. The companies say this is part of a successful effort to boost Europe's gas supply, which comes as the EU scrambles to wean itself off Russian energy. | maxidi

23/8/2022 11:27 | I'd recommend any fundamentals based investor to learn the equivalent amount about technical analysis. It will improve your winners and reduce your losers. You'll get keener prices on both entries and exits and it will force you to analyse and question your fundamental priors. I treat both equally, and I scan for opportunities using both methods, and then buy and sell using both methods. Not mentioned, but that is just 2/3 of my methodology, the remainder equal part being macro. In my opinion one has to understand interest rates, inflation, their rate of change, commodities production and consumption, exchange rates, global politics etc etc. | hpcg
23/8/2022 11:25 | To offset windfall tax they can sanction nailsea and even another project as well. The cash flow from a successful Southwark will finance two projects easily. Investment gets 91% relief and they are gas which if the future markets are right is expensive right through until the end of the decade. | robizm
23/8/2022 11:08 | Yes, interesting post hpcg | marvelman

23/8/2022 10:54 | A measured move on the cup and handle has a target of 54. Fundamentals rule though and results will really drive this. Not the backward looking part from the first half of the year but the companies projections. Those will be difficult but they will hopefully provide some sensitivity data. Note that the gas forward market is completely broken, users simply aren't hedging because of the cost. Needless to say it means gas producers can't forward sell, but it also means uncertainty on volatility in price. At some point industrial users slow or shut in, and domestic users learn to put on a jumper or 2. Data on production, real pricing, super tax, Southwark progress will be lapped up. As I have said before with the windfall tax in place the company can spend more to bring forward Southwark and the 10% of that amount that drops through negative to the cash flow line (its capitalised anyway, so won't see the bottom line until next year, and then in part) will be replaced by just a few days production. | hpcg
