Marquis, enter word "Spread" into keyword search and there's dozens of threads about spreadbetting for reference.

Thanks I'll try that, but I am also interested in other peoples experiences using different systems.

Some very interesting articles/comments here. People (such as myself) which are considering moving to daytrading for a living need to be aware of the pitfalls of trading as well as the more obvious financial rewards.

What i have learnt from trading is that discipline is king, knowing when to trade and when to walk away are vital.

not gonna waffle about tactics but would love to read more comments from active traders.

As for myself i actively trade around my job, averaging £300/£400 per week part time. Can it be sustained full time?

perhaps we could get some input from taxi/crocodile/etc?

It would be interesting to know what's happened to the guy who started this thread (Bensta) - does he still want to pack up his full-time job to become a daytrader? For those who do, I would say before they did pack their jobs, it would be a good practise to take a couple of weeks off work and trade intensely to experience what it's really like to be a full-time trader as well as testing their ability to see if they can make money from this.

One word of advice if I may; "try not to enjoy yourself too much in this game, I reckon you will be more successful"!!

Hmmm... I didn't intentionally copy it.
Must have stuck in my mind subconciously.
I will note this thread on my PBB thread (LIFE)

Raqifluz, this is the thread you want for strategy discussion...

Melfaraj, I mentioned earlier in this thread that I only trade the dow and not shares. That means no time spent researching as I am only interested in movement, up or down, it doesn't matter which. This also means not starting to trade until 3pm ish if I was in Spain and trying to only trade 2 hours or so as I believe this is the best time for movement and I would try and restrict myself to a daily target to reach within this time, say 20-30 or 40 pts and then leave any favourable positions open with stops if they are past break even point.

I didn't want to discuss strategies of trading on this thread as I said, because the thread I have put a link to here was in full flow at the time of starting this thread.

I just wanted to ask about the lifestyle, ups and downs, trials and tribulations, pitfalls and jubilations of living the life of trading.
