To influence the VWAP Lansted would need to sell shares which would require a TR1 announcement. I agree with your second sentiment, what benefit would they gain as it would devalue their core holding. Look back over the last 3 years and you will see Lansted was the largest shareholder going into the last trial.

Its based on a VWAP, so in effect L with their shareholding could influence daily pricing to get a better deal than benchmark. However looking at their shareholding they will benefit far more by share price rising. By now they could easily have hedged the agreement so they dont lose which is likely the reason for the recent share price drop with the usual flipping of standard placing shares.It will be very dependent on +/- newsflow, although the BOD must be quite confident of a successful FDA to opt for this mechanism.As usual it could go either way, but the reward is certainly attractive for a small play for me.
