11/9/2017 12:48 | It is certainly going to be a very interesting few days. After the Apple announcement, I thought there was zero chance of an Apple bid, but now I'm not so sure. Still seems pretty unlikely, but.............just maybe. Anyway I've had enough of this long drawn out process. THEYAK | theyak
11/9/2017 11:38 | We won't get a bid from Canyon until their bid for Lattice is either given the ok by Trump- against the will of his advisors, or when it's rejected, the process from 'appeal' to 'decision' is 14 days. I believe a negative decision is very positive for an IMG BID for all the obvious reasons , if it does get OK, it still might be on. The INTERESTING part about Apple's presentation tomorrow is that they WILL be talking EXTENSIVELY about AR, the NEW iPhones must contain the 'core' IMG GPU. This then becomes very interesting During Volker Politz’s keynote address, titled “Enabling Innovation with AI”, he introduced different aspects of current technologies, including the application of neural network technology in computer vision, VR/AR/MR image processing and IoT. Politz also announced that Imagination Technologies will soon reveal new technologies that will be significant in the AI industry. Now I know AI is not AR but Apple are working on both. Apple have SHAFTED IMG, BUT still are using their IP big-time in their biggest innovations for years. I would NOT be surprised if IMG make an announcement on Wed/Thursday about their GPU IP that directly ties it in with The capabilities of the new iPhone -ok it's a dream, but I don't think the NDA's are quite so forceful these days ;-), and an appropriately written and worded press release could generate some very nice and much needed publicity After that I expect a bid or no bid from Canyon by the latest a week today Hats on ready to be shot down, it's an exciting punt at the moment S | sweenoid
11/9/2017 10:48 | No bid today then. Who'd have thought ? | hammerd2
11/9/2017 10:22 | My post also was likewise 100% factual when i said 'Leaked tech news shows.......'. The pertinent point being Mr Rowe, no one instantly followed your post up with 'You really think anyone is going to believe you" did they now? | evil_doctor_facilier
11/9/2017 10:19 | Well I for one am gobsmacked. IMG in the 2017 iPhones ?!?! Imagine such a thing. It's so unexpected. | hammerd2

11/9/2017 10:05 | My post was 100% factual. It said "I suspect that Canyon is too busy with Lattice to pay much attention to IMG yet." | jamesrowe
11/9/2017 09:40 | WOW!! so graceful after making yourself look churlish! let's hope your posts don't get fact checked hey, especially your post attaining to "Canyon is too busy with Lattice to pay much attention to IMG yet." | evil_doctor_facilier

11/9/2017 08:23 | Really? The unmitigated bitterness on these threads is amazing!!! Leaks suggest Apple iPhone 8 may be the greatest iPhone ever By Akshay Mhatre hxxps://theleaker.co This will also be proved again with the new A11 chip crushing all the benchmarks along, with its coprocessor and a 6-core GPU from imagination technologies. Which Apple will be using for a quite a new feature this time around all the heavy AR thing it will be performing. hxxp://appleinsider. By Mike Wuerthele Sunday, September 10, 2017, 10:16 am PT (01:16 pm ET) Update: The six cores were "clarified" by the discoverers later on Sunday, with the current prediction being two of them having the higher power, and four of them being the low-power, high power efficiency model. | evil_doctor_facilier

10/9/2017 21:39 | 285.69 x 7.12 = 202920 billion your 292 million over. so mail online aren't using todays share count. So once again your wrong. Stick to the facts . | tombelfast
10/9/2017 21:25 | LOL.there's one born every day. Just a hunch, but has anyone ever hit you on the head. With a heavy hammer or 2.that would normally account for your behaviour here. | tombelfast
10/9/2017 20:52 | Oh dear, you really are a little bit special aren't you ? You really don't know do you that : a. Market cap (company valuation) is the number of shares x share price. (265m x 7.12). b. You don't take market cap then add assets (cash or otherwise) to the market cap to get a company valuation (hint. Those things are already included in the share price). c. That Mail Onlne simply took the number of shares in circulation today and multiplied it by the share price in 2012 to get £2bn. d. You think there were 286m shares in circulation in 2012 when an IMG RNS states there were only 265m. c. You can look at basic, easily researched, publicly available data rather than believe anything on Mail Online. Never mind - enjoy your tin foil hat wearing world, I won't be reading any more of your nonsense. I've only endured this far to post a bit of reality to any newbies who've appeared recently so they don't start believing any of your drivel. | hammerd2
10/9/2017 17:40 | Add in imaginations capital reserves £134 million at that time, and you get your valuation of £2 billion. That's why the mail online posted that valuation graph and wrote £2 billion not me. You really need to do the basics before cooking on ADVFN LOL LOL | tombelfast
10/9/2017 17:30 | Imaginations valuation was £2 billion April 2012 price over £7 check out the mail online for confirmation. I believe apple orchestrated imaginations current position only in my opinion, Why else would they hold onto its 8% stake in imagination when it could have offloaded it before announcing the ending of its chip contracts with imagination. That makes no sense unless it needs that stake to make a cheaper bid for imagination.it's just common sense. Apple can if it wants, out bid most offers .that's a given fact. But if cayon bridges really wants or needs it, then china also has deep pockets, and a spectacular bid baffle could erupt. | tombelfast

10/9/2017 15:17 | Tombelfast, I do think it would be a serious gamble for Apple to artificially try to reduce the value of IMG so that they can get IMG for themselves on the cheap. That would probably work if you were sure that you were going to be the only bidder. However that is clearly not the case here with IMG having a 'a number of parties interested in the company'. Apple would be in danger of losing out to another bidder like Canyon Bridge or some other entity with deep pockets. I guess we will see soon if Apple do actually make a bid for IMG. | timbob2000 |
