03/9/2017 15:52 | Initially putting MIPS and Ensigma up for sale could have had an aspect of clearing the decks towards easing a later sale of PowerVR to a wider range of possible future owners. Lattice share price is currently $5.66 whereas the Canyon Bridge bid offer price is $8.30, that's share price of 68% of bid or 32% down on bid. If a similar effect is applied to IMG the current £1.40 share price would need a £2.05 per share or £585m bid offer from Canyon Bridge to maintain it, especially as we know a 75 day CFIUS review will likely be triggered with such a bid. | borromini1
03/9/2017 12:46 | dealy if you feel so strongly, get a gang together and put in a bid 👍 If there are no UK based outfits willing to put together a bid then it has to be someone else. I'm not sure why everyone gets so upset about foreign ownership - many shareholders are already foreign (last time I checked Apple weren't a U.K. company and they've held a major stake for years) and if the company is about to go t1ts up then surely any owner who doesn't end up sacking everyone and closing the business down is a better alternative. | hammerd2
03/9/2017 12:42 | Plus a bid should/could/may flush out another bidder, which would be every shareholder's wet dream at the moment. | hammerd2
03/9/2017 12:41 | Britain always has been and always will be up for sale. It is not Sweden or Germany with long term plans. Britain is a prostitute that will always be sold for a short term gain | dealy
03/9/2017 11:43 | My thoughts on the issues surrounding Canyon Bridge and a CFIUS referral in the States are that: - Rejection of the Lattice deal could make it more likely that Canyon Bridge would want to bid for IMG. - Even if there were CFIUS issues surrounding the aquisition of the MIPS division of IMG by Canyon Bridge (and I am not completely convinced that there would be), these would only come into play once a bid was announced and at the moment all we need is announcement of a formal bid to get the share price moving rather than the completion of the sale so CFIUS should have no impact at all on IMG for now. | jamesrowe
03/9/2017 08:29 | There aren't many high tech companies up for sale right now. Buyout funds need to actually make some deals. In a normal market this would already be at 200p. But we are in an ETF mega cap only market so there is no interest in small caps. Hence the enormous opportunity | dealy

02/9/2017 20:48 | By Mark Kleinman, City Editor A Chinese-backed fund is to test Theresa May's pledge to subject foreign takeovers of British companies to closer scrutiny by lodging a formal bid for the struggling chipmaker Imagination Technologies. Sky News has learnt that Canyon Bridge Capital Partners has hired advisers from the Wall Street bank Citi to work on an offer for Imagination, one of Britain's leading technology businesses. Sources said this weekend that Canyon Bridge had made significant progress during talks with Imagination in recent weeks, with a formal bid expected to be presented to the London-listed group in the next fortnight. | opodio

02/9/2017 19:15 | They may have been approached by a number of companies but how many are still interested after seeing the books. While I had expected this to take time it is now taking too long imo | nearlythere
02/9/2017 19:04 | one suspects news must be due soon. from 22 june 2017, below; "Imagination Technologies Group plc (LSE: IMG, "Imagination", "the Group") announces that over the last few weeks it has received interest from a number of parties for a potential acquisition of the whole Group. The Board of Imagination has therefore decided to initiate a formal sale process for the Group and is engaged in preliminary discussions with potential bidders." 2.5 months later and no update, my point being that IMG was approached by a number of parties, it did not put itself up for sale and await interest, therefore indicative prices would not have been long coming, neither should negotiations thereafter. so why 2.5 months? | stoxx67
02/9/2017 17:30 | Thinking positive and assuming a bid goes though has anyone got any low price companies to look at for reinvestment? I was thinking alones the lines of MelodyVR currently at 7.625p. I need to read into them a lot more over the next few weeks. | pottsey
01/9/2017 21:51 | 2 points The Lattice situation may actually work in IMG'S FAVOUR,as it looks like it will be turned down! MIPS is now part of a UK company, albeit with a US Presence. It would look like s CIFIUS referral would be needed, but would an acquisition of MIPS endanger US National security!?? I think Trump and CIFIUS would get much more vexed about the acquisition of a US based company The other consideration is that if the takeover were to take place IMG could divest its US based operations ( terminate the US staff) and sell the rest - management were ruthless when they kicked out HY and terminated many staff then, highly unlikely they would agree to do that As for the new A11Apple processor, GPU must be IMG surely Just thoughts S | sweenoid

01/9/2017 12:32 | mmmmm My 1st revisit here since I sold my entire stake, the day the Apple news dropped. On a quick scan, I see some familiar names are still here :-) I see an opportunity I won't be posting, won't be researching it, I don't love it anymore ;-), but the sum of the parts MUST be more than the present SP, and I know they can't or likely won't take Apple to patent court but IMHO Apple's perfidious treatment of IMG may creep up and cause a minor hiccup for them along the line. I am also betting that despite what they say, there WILL be IMG IP in the new iPhone8 processor. in for 20000 as a sheer punt S | sweenoid
