23/1/2007 08:11 | No, its very interseting keep it up | cambium
22/1/2007 21:46 | Agreed CR, post1013, but just wondered if we might get a lot of very quick baggers this year, before the dow pulls everthing down with it. It does seem a monumental task to keep the DOW rising at its current rate given the economic pointers in the states plus the various other factions weilding just a little more clout...china russia et al. Anyway folks, apologies for clogging up this thread, when it should be elsewhere. :-) | maximoney1
22/1/2007 21:25 | FTSE100 is on a fwd PE of 13, where it was 3 years ago virtually and low historically. If earnings beat this year the PE is even lower. Not frothy unless earnings start missing imo CR | cockneyrebel
22/1/2007 21:22 | Richard Farleigh in Taming the Lion says 'ignore the experts'. I tend to agree. I don't know what will happen but I have taken a significant amount of cash out of the markets just in case we will see a major correction or the start of a bear market. I missed the dotcom crash and reinvested in April 2003. I am hoping my luck will hold and I'll be able to follow the same pattern for the next bear market. Also I have a little cash inflow from property investments which I am directing into a bank account in order to take advantage of the next big fall in the markets. :O) At least if the markets fall sharply ( and I am talking about a fall larger then large May ) I may get hurt a little but profits on the way back up should easily make up for a little scratch. | liarspoker
22/1/2007 21:17 | CR...again one of these arguments, does the transports act as lead indicator to the industrial average? Its the divergence (not the absolute value 'per sa') and 'they' (who the hell are they?) say something has to give eventually, but certainly the chart you linked too is currently showing a nice 'inverse head and shoulders', which might just mean the transports are going to correct higher. Now wouldn't that be nice ;-) | maximoney1
22/1/2007 21:04 | 2006 was a frothy year for me. :O) Hope to repeat it in 2006 but will not be disappointed if I only make even 50% of what I made last year. | liarspoker
22/1/2007 20:44 | That sentiment nails it for me CR..."so many bargains, not enough cash". I wonder if perhaps 2007 could be a silly 'frothy' year before a big crash. Looking at stateside, the dow transports are telling a different story from DJIA, so i wonder just how long before it hits home? In a lot of quarters, its reckoned that the transports reflect reality, whereas DJIA is oft manipulated on sentiment. Guess we'll find out in due course, meanwhile, best we can do is minimilise downside risk, as the 'carp' will be hit before the earners..imo. | maximoney1
22/1/2007 20:13 | I don't have targets, I just know when I think something is too cheap. Still too cheap for me to sell any, wish I had more cash left, so many bargains, not enough cash :-( CR | cockneyrebel

22/1/2007 15:24 | Looks like we are on our way up as we approach the results. I nearly topped up again this morning but got called away. Just come back to see we are up nearly 4% so I think I will hold off now! I have too many of these anyway.... 25% of my portfolio. | jgscott
