20/9/2006 11:37 | CR I can see why it's a good piece of business for ISD - synergies, customers, efficiency, and all the good things you mention. But if I were Clyde Broadcast, I think I'd recognise that it's good business for ISD, and so even if it's non-core to me, and may save me money if I dispose of it, it's still an asset, and I'd want something from ISD for it. That's what I couldn't get my head around. By the way, is the daily chart working for you folks today? | spangle93
20/9/2006 10:50 | Spangle - suppose Impact Media (the acquisition) cannot make money at the moment because they are too small. Imagesound are one of their major customers. Suppose the business isn't viable without Imagesound buying and Imagessound have said they are looking elsewhere. The owners of Impact Media (Clyed Broadcast) may feel that as it's a non-core part of their business they are better off just selling it to Imagesound at a low price just to get it off their hands. Once Imagesound own it they no longer have the costs of going to Impact Media for outsude work - a saving for ISD. If Impact's 4 staff are sat about doing beggar all half the time then they can do some of the work ISD have in house without recruiting unknown staff too - it's synergies basically I expect. If two mechanics need to buy a £50 jack each their costs are £100. If they merge they only need 1 x £50 jack - their costs are £50 and they have an extra £50 to invest elsewhere or as profit. That's the basic theory. CR | cockneyrebel
20/9/2006 09:54 | There are a number of things about this share that look too good to be true, Spangle, and this is another. Sometimes you just have to shut your eyes and hope for the best. | diogenesj
20/9/2006 08:33 | Probably paying a tonne of goodwill........ | liarspoker
20/9/2006 08:23 | Sorry to be thick here, but this sounds too good to be true "In addition to the production of radio commercials and radio programmes, Impact provides Brand Radio (and Media) to some high profile retail outlets. Current retail audio clients and ongoing trials include, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Toyota GB, Halifax/Bank of Scotland and Reid Furniture. Whilst the immediate financial impact of this acquisition is minimal for Imagesound, the Directors anticipate that the transaction will be earnings enhancing in the year to 31 December 2007." So ISD gains a whole load of new clients, enhances its earnings, and it's essentially no cost. Can someone explain the catch (other than having to pay the lease on the building)? Thanks | spangle93
20/9/2006 07:43 | Aye, keep it quiet Ian, Let the mob get on board when its in the late teens 8-) | bigbigdave
20/9/2006 07:38 | I'd say leave it rise on its own merits. That way we can still add around the 14 - 16p mark. :O) | liarspoker
20/9/2006 07:36 | CR. Perhaps you could sing the praises of ISD on the SOLA board ;-) Not suggesting you ramp or anything, but imagine what would happen to the ISD price if the SOLA gang climbed aboard ! | iandippie
20/9/2006 07:26 | means eps for 07 icreases. That on top of the 2.4p forecast. Current fwd PE 5.5 without the acquisition - these will rerate at some point imo, and I reckon it will catch a few out when it does CR | cockneyrebel
20/9/2006 07:08 | Nice little acquisition. May be small, but it all counts. | bigbigdave
19/9/2006 15:12 | I'm personally just waiting for the first tip sheet to tip these. Sort of thing SCSW or the like will see the valuation. Sad thing is many punters need to be 'told' what to buy by a newspaper or a tipsheet - they then pay over the odds instead of buying and waiting for the tipsheets to follow. CR | cockneyrebel
19/9/2006 15:06 | Nah, forming a mini pennant before major breakout imo bbd | bigbigdave

12/9/2006 19:50 | Yep, I dare say most didn't see an adjusted eps number and so they've looked away. Give it a week or two, perhaps less imo. CR | cockneyrebel
12/9/2006 19:38 | oops! sorry CR. We'll have all sorts of loonies here before long 8-) bbd | bigbigdave

11/9/2006 16:06 | Looks like that 150K was a buy. Command Fund have added 150K to move them up to 13.53%. That's interesting because on their last statement they had reduced. The Company was informed on 11 September 2006 by The Command Fund that it has an interest in 8,525,000 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), representing 13.53 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital. 11/9/2006 15:33 | I'm not sure. It's timed at 11.10 am. Proquote shows the price then as 12.75p/13.5p. The intraday chart shows the mid as 13.25p then too falling to 13p mid shortly after. I'm not sure how that would have been a sell, it would have been over mid surely at 13.3p? CR | cockneyrebel |
