IKA are confident in their battery tech, they do not require another partnership with Universities working on a different project. IKA are ahead in terms of IP,testing, and manufacturing capability and If I had read that IKA was involved in this latest I’d be inclined to think their existing project isn’t progressing to plan.
British volt are likely to use the succeeding project whichever one turns out to be regardless

Either IKA weren’t invited to the party or they rsvp’d no because they don’t need it /want it. Given the recent fund raise & steps towards automation, I’d be inclined to think the latter.

IKA has worked with most of these consortium partners. The whole idea of these partners getting together now, at this relatively late stage & saying we’re going to develop an SSB seems a bit odd. Either Goliath is totally useless or IKA said no & has bigger fish to fry.

Recent statements have also created a slight distance between UKBIC (now possible vs previous definite). Atm, we don’t know what the catalyst is for this. It could be the Stereax fab thing happening again. Anyway, some points to raise on 22/09

Agreed, it feels more like ; if you have something serious to contribute you should be in.Go far together, as they say. I'd add go fast alone, but IKA have been at this for years so not sure that applies either.

I fear the real reason is more prosaic than that.

I guess IKA want to go it alone, albeit using UKBIC facility. They will need deep pocketed partner at some point

Berenberg recommendation Key statsMarket capitalisation£142mNumber of shares out101mVolume (90-day avg.)0.15mCash per share-3.17p Ilika ahead of battery peers, says BerenbergBerenberg is encouraged by the progress battery technology group Ilika (IKA) is making versus its peers.Analyst James Carmichael retained his 'buy' recommendation and target price of 260p on the stock, which closed down 0.7%, or 1p, at 140.5p on Tuesday. Following a conference centred around batteries, Carmichael said he 'came away encouraged by Ilika's development timelines relative to its peers and the focus on scaling and commercialising solid-state batteries, which illustrates the growing maturity of the technology'.Carmichael made no changes to his underlying forecasts and retained his recommendation 'based on the attractive risk-reward profile of the business'. But he said he was 'encouraged by the near-term commercialisation of the smaller format Stereax battery, and also the recent move to accelerate development'.
