I just happened to have funds available, an existing Primary Bid account and felt comfortable with the investment case and risks. The basis of allocation of shares to subscribers made clear that preference would be given to existing shareholders and I’m happy to say I got my full allocation, nearly doubling by holding.

PrimaryBid closed the placing early which means it was oversubscribed. It's frustrating when allocations are scaled back but it's usually a healthy indicator of investor support. I quickly genned up on the company after PrimaryBid posted the offer this morning. The thing that struck me was that here again we have a hugely promising UK tech company preferring to licence out its technology rather than seek investment to scale the business globally. It still has the prospects to grow susbtantially but appears to have limited its ambitions. Will hold for now though.

As for Roger Ramjet’s comment “more placings to come in years ahead”, let’s hope he’s right.
All the massively successful companies from Amazon and Apple down have raised funds via equity issuance in their early years of growth.
We can only hope he’s right for a change!!

For those not in the know…
The placing has already closed heavily oversubscribed.
And for the idiot who suggested “keep shorting”, may I inform him that you can’t short Ilika. It’s stock is unborrowable. May he keep learning!

Paddy, neither Stereax nor Goliath are hi-tech processes and neither involve new, protected technology.

Stereax uses electrostatic spray deposition (old hat) and Goliath uses silk screen printing (several hundred years old hat).

What Ilika might have is an effective solution to the anode/cathode/electrolyte mix which produces a good electrical output (but they have never given any info on that).

The recent price ramp followed by a deep discounted rights issue is a classic city operation.

Nice work, boys.
