15/7/2015 09:07 | Same story really, it took years of set-backs for SXX to get the go ahead. This action on water by the Tories is a good indication that they are serious & could get their act together on a national plan. I see they have had to pay extra for more generation to cover the gap this winter @ £37m. The penny has dropped, but do they have the guts to get on with the job, will the Scots let them anyway ? | haydock
14/7/2015 23:31 | Plans for faster fracking get go-ahead Francis Egan, CEO of Cuadrilla, said he welcomed the proposals Andrew Fox/The Times Francis Egan, CEO of Cuadrilla, said he welcomed the proposals Andrew Fox/The Times Ben Webster Environment Editor Last updated at 12:01AM, July 14 2015 Shale companies will be allowed to begin fracking a year earlier than at present under government plans to allow them to test groundwater without planning permission. Ministers are expected to approve an industry request for “permitted development rights” to drill boreholes at potential extraction sites before fracking has been approved. At present, the shale gas and oil industry must obtain planning permission for water-testing boreholes, which could delay the start of fracking by up to 12 months. cheers FT FT | ftangftang
14/7/2015 11:48 | Fracking applications mainly so far by small companies are of such complexity that they are hard to complete satisfactorily. The Yorks application withdrawn, & exposed to FOI probing by the press. Very careless mistakes on the vast planning forms,@ 13, but some fundamental, such as fracking liquids. Once again an own goal by the smaller companies with little clout, all over the Yorkshire Post front page. Re-application is the simple chosen choice, but the damage has been done once more. If the Tories want a N.Sea gas like boom, as Thatcher had, they will have to get their act together. The Lords said a year ago that they were letting small companies carry the can, with disastrous local consequences. Third Energy are already facing a CC. that wants extra time for the submissions, & will like Lancs, stretch it out, as long as they can. | haydock

10/7/2015 21:14 | The gov will have to blame it on something, homes are way too expensive. Rents and mortgages are unaffordable for many. I suspect I may buy at higher prices and let others take the same gamble. The odds are much more favourable than they were last year, of course the odds could always get better. | 17902

07/7/2015 15:44 | COME ON CHUMPS, TALK IT BACK UP TO 180 -LOL FRACKING LIKELY TO WIPE 7% OFF THE PRICE OF HOMES ACCORDING TO A SECRET GOV REPORT. I MAY BUY AT LOWER PRICES AS I DO EXPECT FRACKING TO TAKE OFF BUT NOT FOR YEARS - THE FRACKING SP'S HAVE TUMBLE WHEN FOOLS THAT WERE RANTING "FILL YA BOOTS" WHERE BUYING HIGH - TIMINIG IS THE KEY, I EITHER HIT IT AND MAKES LAODS OF MORE DOSH OR MISS IT, THEN NO WORRIES - I WONDER WHEN PEOPLE WILL GET THEIR MONEY PACK THAT BOUGHT LOT HIGHER THAN CURRENT PRICES FOX YOU | fox you
06/7/2015 09:20 | Right next door, not that the BOD show any interest at the moment or will announce anything about this site: Europa's CEO, Hugh Mackay said, "With mean gross un-risked prospective resources of 5.6 million barrels of oil, as estimated in a CPR published in June 2012, and a one in three chance of success, we view Holmwood as being one of the best undrilled conventional prospects onshore in the UK. We are currently focused on securing planning permission to drill an exploratory well and undertake a short-term test for conventional hydrocarbons at Holmwood. We welcome UKOG to the partnership." | haydock

01/7/2015 09:17 | Pity we did not have sensible residents as this chap from the north east (Sxx potash mine approved)living in north lancs Extract from comments to north yorks planning board First to speak at the meeting was Keith Robert, who lives next door to Dove's Nest Farm, where the mine will be sunk. "He told the meeting: "I'm aware there will be considerable disruption for the next four to five years, especially for all of us living close to the site, but I feel we have been gifted a huge opportunity here." He said as well as local opportunities, it would "increase the world food supply for years to come", adding, "the short-term pain will give rise to massive long-term rise." Short sighted planners indeed. | hawkwind4 |
