my pleasure Livingstone20 . I only trade using CFds as you know but IG will not allow me to open a position in PSH or HVPE but I have a spreadbet account and can buy on that . A pain in the proverbial !

Thanks Arja. That’s a coincidence as PSH is my largest holding and ICGT presently my second! Will check out HVPE.

Whilst the end Jan NAV reported last week was a good improvement, I note the FTSE250 has gone up by another 11% from that date. Whilst private valuations often difficult to guess, those comparables give me some encouragement that next quarters NAV could also improve.

livingstone ,
I think HVPE and PSH are ones to look at .

skyship ,
yes , i only have CFD accounts for years although opened a share account today to trade aussie shares as special offer of commission free for 6 months and rare for
firms to give active clients a favour ! ( smile ) . No SD in OZ since about 1995 when GST introduced
and , as you say , SD makes day trades not worth it most of the time . It did weaken at the close to go under 1100 but I was on way home . Us markets recovered quite a bit since UK close and ICGT might well open higher on friday . Good luck

Nope, for an investor -as Graphite it doubled in 5 years from 2002, in its revised form as ICGT it doubled in a year from its low last Spring. Over time it's provided long-term investors with quite good returns. For a hobby investor who doesn't need to make a quick buck it seems quite a good IT -worrying about short-term chart behaviour isn't a concern really -is the underlying modus operandi a good one - it seems so - to date:-)

I have found this type of trust often drift up in weeks after Nav as the new Nav and discount goes in to all the data services. Some of the funds/folks that trade on investment trust discount narrowing strategies may start to see opportunity over next week or two. Fingers crossed anyway!! I am going to hold on for that.

Anyone got any other similar opportunities where the Nav uplift has trailed the market? Bpet did similar for nice spike last month. Struggling to find a 3rd with same characteristics.

Arja - problem is having to pay the 0.5% stamp duty; or perhaps you are CFD trading.

CHWY @ $81,,,,so that fall from $101 perhaps knocks c25p off the NAV.

two AIM stocks I think with wide spreads and presumably quite illiquid. But I think you hold for a while and I look for quick trade. Good luck with them skyship.

Also sold (1122p) but will hold off rebuying as pretty fully, though happily, exposed to PE...

NBPE my banker still; added to which JPEL & MVI as two interesting high discount specs.

All very positive and as they say, momentum continues. Telos sale should add 30p to next nav update. Hoping we can trend up through 1150p. 1200p may have to wait till next update but you never know.

the worry with this stock is that it is so thinly traded and would be difficult to exit if there ever is a big fall in US indices . Seems unlikely at the moment .i guess punters a bit nervous today ahesad of the results and why a slight pullback .

Post 132. Similar to you. Should be good I hope. Just difficult to know how much is in the price now. I think quality of portfolio has been improving and argues for a narrowing of the discount to say c.10% and same for hvpe. It should but probably won't happen. Still expecting steady gains here regardless , bar main market collapse.
