"the south east of England is "apparently" the most densely populated part of Europe"

That's my point - we build for large numbers on a very small proportion of our land, time to relax planning laws so urban areas are not so crammed!
What's wrong with building on green spaces? 97% of the UK is not built upon - it's hardly going to disappear is it?

the south east of England is apparently the most densely populated part of Europe.
how many more people do you want crammed in.? In my view there should be no building on green spaces and houses should be built on brownfield sites in urban areas.

"So let's just build anything anywhere and cover the country in houses.
To hell with green spaces."

no - but lets look at the facts - read the report by the UK National Ecosystem Assessment (NEA), which states that 3% of the UK land mass is actually built upon!!!!
yes, just 3%, which is the second lowest in Europe!
There are plenty of green spaces.
Most people automatically assume that green spaces will be concreted over, however, thats due to most people living in urban areas, which are very densely populated, compared to elsewhere in Europe, hence everybody feels the UK is over-crowded than it really is.

Don't let the facts get in the way of your biased misconceptions!

What a load of rubbish that article is.

No shortage of bricks.........ask the merchants first and then Ibstock.

Have a look at MBH a small interesting brick manufacturing which I am buying into slowly.........

Not so sure about what you have said KEVPH. Some odf the Placing shares will have gone into a dealing account and the others in the black box.
The market is very mixed towards house bilders so this is not going to be a dealing share but one where it can be purchased on a drip feed basis and for that and a number of other reasons I have started my buys today.

That is how I see matters........

I'm ok with the institutional buys and as pointed out, breaks up the 47%. It's not like this kind of volume hits the open market. It'll probably blow over in a couple of days,if not tomorrow, and then resume it's merry march north. Should be a few quid to be made for those who bought in on the back of the fear. GLA

The worry is that Bain clearly think 175p is a good price, which rather caps the upside given they have another 37% to go. On the other hand buyers were also happy with the price, which lends support. Thinking about buying back in (traded post brexit) but not sure.
