21/6/2024 12:24 | Gas will stay low until after the US elections, that being November! This share price will fall accordingly, at this momentum we are looking at 6p by November. As I said before the Energy giants are all pencilling in a recession in 2025, this won’t help the share price either. The imminent updates for I3E won’t make good reading with regards to the increasing dept. It’s ok guessing where gas will be in 6 months, but market makers don’t do guessing. | fandagle
21/6/2024 12:10 | RockyRide, I know that Rocky but I think your missing the nuisance here. Dividends should be paid out of sustainable profits - agreed and that’s effectively what I3E’s RNS says- but if your are confident that the Fall in AECO is temporary and that profits will return - then drawing on a small amount of debt to cover a short term shortfall is almost certainly preferable to cutting the dividend. Now that you have brought up the subject - I’m pretty confident that i3e will declare and pay the dividend. And by the way - it’s not uncommon for Companies to fund dividends from debt. | tonynorstrom1

21/6/2024 11:33 | Tony - you don't take on debt to pay dividends, you sound like Liz Truss now! | rockyride
21/6/2024 11:20 | Yesterdays RNS did not highlight anything different from their previous RNS's on Capital Reduction including the risk of cutting the dividend - they merely highlighted that dividends will be paid out where justified by underlying profits - which is the caveat they have put in all previous RNS's With AECO at current levels - Profits as they stand now do not cover the dividend, however the situation is a little different from the previous time they cut in that they have zero debt this time round. There is a risk of a dividend cut, however, if I were in i3e's shoes - I would declare the Q2 dividend and review at Q3 - they can easily afford to cover the shortfall through debt. If AECO is at current levels at Q3 then a dividend cut is inevitable. | tonynorstrom1

21/6/2024 10:57 | Does anyone feel there is realistic danger of them cutting the dividend? AECO price related. Yesterday’s RNS about the capital reduction although mainly standard wording did also seem to highlight this risk or am I over analysing? | roundtheworld

21/6/2024 09:57 | Never mind that Jive talk Tony, that's us hit the 8s, its tidy up time and then put the toys away, I called this 8 weeks ago whist you were all having a Rampers jazz fest, falling gas prices and high debt, a blind man on a galloping horse could see what was coming, but not you Tony! What's your agenda here? | fandagle

21/6/2024 07:58 | "With AECO circa .75c, I wonder if the courts will grant the capital restructuring? There seems to be a bit more to it than meets the eye. I think this is far from a formality at the moment." A few comments on this: 1) The RNS wording is consistent with previous ones issued on the same process so nothing amiss there. 2) With regards to creditors - i3e are debt free plus or minus so creditor concerns should be minimal. i3e's balance sheet has never been stronger. 3) The RNS states the following "(ii) any provision that the Court requires the Company to make for the protection of its creditors (although the Board does not expect any undertakings or similar measures to be required)" i.e. the Comany does not expect any impediments to granting of the Capital reduction. Again standard wording found in previous RNS's - so in my opinion - very much a formality. | tonynorstrom1
20/6/2024 20:53 | Either that or they're shortly going to make a stonking gas acquisition whilst prices are on the floor ready for recovery into 2025... | spawny100
20/6/2024 19:21 | Indeed I would expect a change of direction to drilling oil wells rather than gas in third quarter | genises
20/6/2024 15:43 | I wonder whether the company will deviate from drilling gas and look at oil as per their guidance on the last Ops update. Clearly they are well under their projected gas guidance so I'm expecting some change in direction to negate this. | banksy
20/6/2024 15:34 | Rocky...we had thus scenario the previous time. As you know, the most important criteria from the courts point of view is the protection of creditors. The board will certainly be giving written assurances that creditirs interests will be protected above shareholders. | marvelman
