Our budget awarded £600?million for Carbon Capture.

What a wasted opportunity!

If and when, Carbon Capture is up and running it will mean we are standing still - not reducing Climate Changing emissions.

With that investment in hydrogen we could begin significant reduction.

Have the Big Polluters leant on the chancellor so that they can continue to profit from exacerbating the Climate Emergency?

Positive news from all hydrogen economy stocks is needed to restore confidence and SPs.

PHE's share price has been boosted today by news of a highly significant Non Exec. director appointment.

The newly appointed no-exec. is with the major company,Peel Environmental, that are backing PHE with income as they roll out their, hydrogen from waste plastic, process on eleven of Peel Environmental's sites.

Welsh inventor of fuel cells mentioned in the Budget.

Instead of major support for hydrogen, however, 'carbon capture' is getting hundreds of millions.

A wastful and pointless subsidy IMHO.

Hyper Al

Thank you for the information.

That plastic is re-used is good news.

An alternative to plastic tree guards should eventually be developed.

I am a member of ARB: The Arboricultural Association and have more than twenty TPO'd trees. I am very aware of the damage that grey squirrels do to young trees.

Deer other rodents and contagious tree diseases threatening many mature trees (see 'Tree Alert' the Forestry Commission site) are other factors.

Obviously as a 'hydrogen economy' investor my bias is toward immediate boosting of hydrogen infrastructure.

The continuing floods this year after over a decade of summer or winter floods demonstrate that urgent action is needed.

More Observer budget speculation:

£1 billion for vehicle charging points ( could help AFC if it happens)

AFC still have to announce actual orders after their Dunsfold to Dundee Roadshow.

Bamford hydrogen buses get a half page in the Telegraph Sunday Business section.

Observer 'leaks' budget proposal of £800 million toward Carbon capture and green energy measures.

The Climate Emergency is so dire that Carbon Capture and offsetting should not be considered. The money should all go into Hydrogen IMHO.
Tree planting sounds good but is slow to have effect and needs follow up management of the trees: watering for the first two years at least. Grey squirrels will devastate many young trees.

Currently plastic tubes are used to protect against rabbits deer etc but plastic usage is now also negative.

Logan Energy to Open First Public Hydrogen Station.

It's all happening.

PHE have their Planning Consent and are backed for 11 sites by the massive Peel Environmental - part of the multi billion Peel Holdings, I believe.

Will Hydrogen also get a budget boost next week?
