29/2/2024 18:08 | senseman's probability instinct (rarely, but occasionally wrong) dictates buyer likely Prax, under surreptitious pre HUR to Prax sale deal, that parties would leave it 6-12 months post 'the deal' before Prax (by whatever mechanism), bought some or all CAs DCUs at significant 'above market value' price. Thus CA get nearer 12.5p than other PIs: ie: the 'secret deal' those against the sale of HUR to Prax warned against. In other words - in return for CA support, Prax, in return for CA support, agreed to buy some or all of CAs DCUs at a price unavailable to other PIs. | senseman
29/2/2024 15:57 | briggs re 37923: That 34.7% of 575 million works out at 200 million DCUs near enough, leaving CA Fund with 375 million, which will be confirmed with their Interims in 4 weeks time. Please post if you work out what price CA might have got for the DCUs. I wonder if Crystal Amber Asset Management might be the buyer from Crystal Amber Fund at the going price? If they changed hands at 1.70 pence per unit CAAM would need to pay £3.4 million. They raised £495,000 on the same day in a transaction with the nominated broker of Crystal Amber's Fund running buybacks. CA Fund have limited their buybacks and CAAM could not have raised another £3 million by selling to that buyer. (Besides, a TR-1 would be required from CAAM if it would cross a %age milestone. 600,000 doesn't pass one.) I think it matters because if the sale went 'in house' so to speak it would send a different message to the case where CA Fund believed the going price for DCUs was at its best. Two other possible buyers of two hundred million DCUs come to mind: Ophorst van Marwijk, who continued buying HUR shares after the price stabilised just before delisting, or Prax or one of its employees. Both of those would put an optimistic shade on the possible reasons for the transaction. | wbodger
