31/7/2022 08:49 | Late September in Porthcawl - hundreds of sightings of Elvis and quite a few performances. What you will find difficult to spot is local residents. | lfdkmp
30/7/2022 22:53 | agree sheep, however Elvis was seen last night at the King George here in Cheltenham, completely plastered (the guy who told me was not sober either) | sapporo59
30/7/2022 17:38 | Exciting times ahead. Won't be sub 10p for much longer. | sheepshagger1
30/7/2022 17:20 | BINGO ??? 29/07/2022 7.50am OIL & GAS / NORTH SEA / WEST OF SHETLAND Hurricane Energy weighs up $250m boost to Lancaster with new well. Hurricane Energy (LON: HUR) is weighing up an M&A deal or a potential $250m boost to its existing Lancaster asset in the West of Shetland. | bobsworth
30/7/2022 13:30 | Truss and Sunak pro fracking if local communities agree.Truss q&ahttps://twitter.c | kooba
30/7/2022 13:21 | I haven't got a view one view or t'other on fraccing..... I'd just like to see 2 or 3 wells at maybe 2 or 3 locations fracced & put on test...seems illogical to take a position on fraccing until we have some facts & figures for fraccing in the UK | thegreatgeraldo
30/7/2022 13:16 | geraldo: I couldn't agree more - the tremors picked up at Cuadrilla's Preston New Road site were miniscule and would have been completely ignored in other jurisdictions. Does anyone know of Truss' stance on fracking? | fat frank
30/7/2022 13:07 | Fat Frank30 Jul '22 - 10:24 - 34798 of 34807 0 1 0 if people read the actual scientific studies they would find that the actual risks in fracking (earth tremors/water contamination/etc) are very low with the latest techniques. ..If you're not picking up very minor tremors during fracking, then you're doing it wrong! You can't have rocks being fractured without upsetting a few seismometers....ther | thegreatgeraldo
30/7/2022 12:59 | Mirabeau: The EV article only contained comments from the AGM there was actually nothing new in it. I asked EV on the 27th why the article had been taken down but got no reply. I see now that it was reinstated on the 29th - strange! | fat frank
30/7/2022 12:58 | Lancaster is quite close to the West of Shetland gas pipeline that runs from Foinaven field through Schiehallion (north of Lancaster) on through Clair to Sullom Voe Terminal ..the project is to then link Sullom Voe to the SIRGE pipeline to the mainland it seems..so taking WoS gas to market. Connection to the WoS gas pipeline may be possible but doubt there is commercial basis unless there was a major gas pocket discovered? | kooba
30/7/2022 12:48 | kooba: 'It’s difficult know the impact of his actions but “he” thinks it has depressed the price..so without the releases where would it be?' Indeed, and where will it go when he has to start replacing what has been released.....? | fat frank
30/7/2022 12:39 | The fact is OPEC+ haven't got the capacity to increase after many years of under investment , they are as good as at capacity. We have then had Biden releasing the strategic Petroleum reserve at never seen levels..its really there for security of supply not to try to manipulate the oil markets but that ain't stopped him. Problem is it has to be replaced in due course which will be large demand rather than supply to the markets. It's difficult know the impact of his actions but "he" thinks it has depressed the price..so without the releases where would it be? | kooba
30/7/2022 12:23 | tks Wbodger, interesting | mirabeau
30/7/2022 12:22 | I was surprised we didn't see more buying interest here following the EV article. I thought the article was incredibly bullish. I wonder who from Hurricane spoke to EV etc etc? Well, all the dynamics are pointing positive for HUR especially the POO now OPEC+ have decided not to appease Obama's puppet and increase production | mirabeau
30/7/2022 12:19 | This might turn out to be relevant some time in the future: hxxps://www.shetnews It is not directly relevant, and I am looking for a map, but: “In addition to creating an additional long-term export route for gas from the Clair field, the new pipeline would be sized to accommodate gas production from other west of Shetland developments." | wbodger
30/7/2022 11:17 | kooba: People should also bear in mind that the environmental record of drilling operations in the UK has improved dramatically over the past 20 years and is now, along with Norway, world leading. BTW - nice day for Pharos yesterday, I'm already showing a tidy profit. Thanks 👍 | fat frank
30/7/2022 11:12 | In the meantime back at good old Hurricane , the key point in the Energy Voice article are the words "engaged in detailed reviews of a number of exciting opportunities" this would indicate ongoing DD on specific projects. I also think this could encompass larger scale operations ..and near term development narrows down target market. The company has cash and is churning it out still..if they can achieve an investment that provides short term production from similar level of investment needed for well 8 but with a far greater recoverable target and production life ..ie target in the M 10's barrels then worth hearing..most development and drilling is not without risk though.Would also explain why they are not going hell for leather at well 8 if there are far better opportunities to near term sustainable production i guess."The alternative to another well at Lancaster is an M&A deal, with Hurricane being "attractive to outside investment and well positioned to look for new growth opportunities".Doing so would diversify its portfolio from its single asset, Lancaster.Hurricane told investors it is considering gas and oil opportunities, mainly in the UK, and is "currently engaged with multiple potential targets".It added: "Regarding possible acquisitions, this would bring the advantage of geographical diversity and the potential to also diversify into gas as well as oil."Our technical team is currently engaged in detailed reviews of a number of exciting opportunities."We are primarily looking at assets in the UKCS, and at assets that are near term developments giving the potential to see significant value growth as we invest and bring those assets to production.""https:/ | kooba
30/7/2022 10:24 | Kooba: Unusually, quite a well balanced article for the BBC. Hydraulic fracturing can be done safely as long as the proper controls and monitoring are in place. In the US they were way to gung-ho in their attitude to fracking and did far too much of it and too quickly. There is some absolute rubbish (flammable tap water etc) being pushed by the anti-fracking activists but if people read the actual scientific studies they would find that the actual risks in fracking (earth tremors/water contamination/etc) are very low with the latest techniques. | fat frank
30/7/2022 07:29 | I own a few Igas ..as both candidates have indicated their support to restart fracking if companies can get local support. It would be a major way to exploit domestic reserves , resulting in cheaper and secure supplies for the UK. Companies in the sector have pledged to put large sums back into the communities where they might operate. The numbers could be very significant in reducing imported gas, securing energy independence and controlling price. Perhaps support could grow if folks saw material savings on their domestic energy bills?"Cuadrilla itself has claimed that "just 10%" of the gas from shale deposits in Lancashire and surrounding areas "could supply 50 years' worth of current UK gas demand".What is fracking and why is it controversial? https://www.bbc.co.u | kooba
30/7/2022 07:18 | "Energy firms should not be hit with a windfall tax despite raking in huge profits, Liz Truss has said. The Foreign Secretary said if she became Prime Minister she would not pursue this policy to help lower energy bills saying it would hit investment."....But Ms Truss has given her strongest indication yet that she would not pursue this policy if elected as Prime Minister.Asked how she would help people afford to pay their bills this winter if she became Conservative Party leader, she said: "I understand that families are really struggling at this time, we've seen a rise in global energy prices."That's why I would reverse the National Insurance increase, putting more money back into people's pockets. We'll also have a temporary moratorium on the green levy, to cut people's energy bills."What we also need to do is make sure we produce more domestically produced gas, so that we are able to increase supply and keep prices as low as possible, and that's really important as we head to net zero, using gas for our transition."https:// | kooba
