any corprate action could involve anouncement and then suspension of share tradeing until deal is done anyway.... depends what type of deal it is....
If they decide to drill, great, but if they decide they are aquiring mergeing or doing some other convoluted corporate action, there could be months of little or no news until the deal is totally done.
In the past i have been tied-in, unable to buy or sell due to suspended trading for 8 or so months with another oil company. However it was worth the wait, they have gone from strength to strength since.
which is nice, becasue nothing much else has...

no news is not necessarily, bad news, its just no news.

My defence on this would be the position over the EPL as it makes a substantial difference to the risk assessment of well 8 or other developments they are talking to.Liz Truss has indicated that she would remove windfall ( when it comes down to it not sure she will ! But won't expand it) If she does then it has a big impact on decisions for the whole industry.Also back to those other opportunities that they were working on..it might well be that they have found a better opportunity for shareholders in early deliverable situations that provide better and longer term returns for investment. There could be ongoing DD on one or more projects.The other factor is that Hurricane offers enhanced value to other producers as a takeover or vehicle again we have no idea on ongoing talks however the company would be more attractive pre committing to a strategy due to the uncommitted cash and optionality.They will have to explain where they are to shareholders soon enough though ...end of summer? As if they intend to pursue well 8 they will need to get cracking.

The future operations outlook has to be declared for shareholders to decide if they want to stick with HUR or move on. An announcement shouldn't take this long. They should have been working on the next move for months now!!!!

Brent $102 up over 8% on the week.Not sure on next offload relative to the expected maintenance coming up in the next few weeks,,could be a i week production halt. Previously we have seen the water cut fall back and production improve after such a halt be interesting on behaviour this time.We should have half a load on board already.

OPEC+ indicated in recent days it will lower production to sustain oil price above a certain level. this will continue.
it is because although oil in ground is not 'finite' (all oil world's reserves will never be used.
future investment & hence production is finite - due to carbon green pressure.
in same way that de beers controlled diamond output & price, OPEC+ will control production, and thus price, for the next 20-30-40 yrs. will not be difficult as even when all transport goes green (many years ahead), world will need oil for almost everything in our lives.
OPEC+ countries need high oil to perform their own expensive green transition, and build up large cash reserves.
there will be no return to cheap oil - would you flood the market and discount your country's future cash lifeline?
recessions may come and go. but oil assets and price will henceforth be much more carefully managed, just as oil investment will be.

Here’s the truth, HUR approached OGAUK with P8 drill, OGA rejected the proposal out of hand! Citing “No forward planning” by HUR other than kicking the can down the road! I feel sorry for the shareholders who bought back in again! A double bumming! It’s a bit like getting burgled, you generally find the burglar keeps coming back for easy pickings
