Yep there is a fist full off new technologies coming. I like the vanadium batteries for local grid networks but that’s big background power and not for high intensity powered vehicles like cars.

Anyway we still need Hurricane otherwise there is no elastic to keep up your socks and underwear! For anyone who remembers the 1960s?

Cyan, hydrogen does not have enough energy concentration, simply it’s too light! Who would have figured.

But inject hydrogen and water into diesel and it burns much cleaner and with 20% more efficiency and 90% less small particles. Was originally pioneered on subs to reduce refuelling and poisoning the crew.

If there is a real future system it’s going to have to be battery based and using metals beyond lithium which is nasty stuff.

I don't have him filtered - I think he's hilarious... Nought wrong wiv' a bit o' banter or some off-topic discussions while we wait for something a bit more ropey.

btw, Am I correct in thinking that our rig for Warwick will be the TO Leader - currently still drilling on Kraken..? Be good if Mirabeau can update the link in the header...

I have been on ADVFN for almost 20 years and I have to say Gary takes the biscuit.

I know I have been a first class muppet from time to time but I am not in his league!

It's a shame really as I suspect I wouldn't mind being in a trench with him as you know he would watch your back as determinedly as he sticks to his point of view on this BB!

"NASA dont have a problem with liquid hydrogen. :-)"

Do NASA worry about fuel costs?

I have no objection to the filtering process or the need for it, but am curious why the need to publish that one has done so.

Filtered for bullying in the form of name calling, which not only is not accepted here or in our general society. ie schools ,social media and the workplace.

gary - we are not interested in who you filter. Really, we aren't.

Your complaint about things clogging up the board is somewhat ironic.

Filter who you like, but don't be a moron and tell us all about it as if it means something. It doesn't.

I have Filtered a lot of posters today for clogging up this board with issues that have no direct effect concerning this Hurricane energy discussion board and will continue to do so .

Glad you added the bit about hydrogen being explosive; I had the Hiddenburg spring to mind.

It would have to be liquefied hydrogen which has a world of handling issues. How much energy would you need to expend liquefying it?

One for the scientists.

Al, true but when twice as many humans are using as much energy as the US does then that very very small percentage will perhaps become significant.

David - I agree, in generations to come, we'll look back at this point in history and comment "What you used to burn oil?"

"We do need plastic and much more which comes from oil for modern life to continue."

There will always be a demanded for oil; its just how much.

How are you going to fuel passenger jets ,for a start. What about shipping too; don't see us going back to sail.
