Forties field had Estimated oil in place of 5bil barrels. Half that would do nicely, but of course, we've got to remember, Forties was the largest accumulation of oil found in the North Sea!
Is HUR really coming up to anything like that?!

Wonder if he is there to look at the fresh rock core which often tells a different story once its been dried.

The rock is probably many hundreds of millions of years old. Very different from young sub 100 million year old sandstone cover.

HURs oil is around 38api a sweet crude , flows easier , less refinery charges etc .

Wells aren't that deep , horizontal sections are technical especially re mud losses / well control .

Last well had a PI of 147 , when Dr Trice mentions this his body language is apparently obvious how pleased he is with this .

Kandy there's no BBBS here , or TK or BobWaterhouse .
Far more honest and kindly here

Leeson, Yeah, Friday 18th RNS was a mahor development. It seems the market has not really understood what it could mean not just for Hurricane, but the UK oil industry as a whole. These are the words of Hurricane CFO, Alistair stobie, on Vox markets after the 'out of round' license award of P2308 by OGA;"If we're able to connect our Halifax well to our Lancaster well, then the potential for the size of that field is off the charts....It's absolutely outstanding"Lancaster is a minimum of 300mmbbls before the Lincoln well is drilled and most importantly before the Halifax well is drilled. 25-30km from Lancaster to Halifax, indicative of a potentially huge reservoir stretching from Lancaster at one end to Halifax & West tray transfer zone at the other. On another note, Lincoln result must be imminent. Lots of activity. Then it's onto the potentially company-making Halifax well. Cash

bit of fun
14 webcams on main menu just click playlist for next camera angle, webcam Sumburgh was used earlier in drilling campaign but looks they now fly from dyce to the rig, plenty of flights next week,

or for more serious research

Good work as ever laser. Thank you. I was mulling over some figures earlier of the broadest sense. If you consider an EPS will crack on at 20k bopd, given this is a world class field with a really high rating, 147 from memory, I was kicking around how hard and how much to kick into say 40 -50k bopd within 6 months of FFD approval. This would surely push us towards £1-£1:50 level presuming no further dilution and reserves of 1bbl?Thinking that DGO had half the level of shares, near 100k bopd at went for £8 share, can't remember reserves, are we also looking at £4 plus in 5 years time?

Can confirm, Trice flew to the rig today
Just because a 60-day window was allowed does not mean the well was going to take that long to drill
Well at TD or thereabouts now

That's the thing it's been rushed and vague , testing was never my niche as .
But heard someone on lse says says testing gear was being sent out to Spitsbergen.
So could be anything

Must admit even if a vanilla froth free drill on the Spitsbergen I'm amazed to be honest at the time expected to drill this well .
Even if a vertical pendulums drill it seems very quick

There has been no over run for bad weather and TD was due to be reached this weekend. Furthermore a poster on LSE suggested he may have been seen at Aberdeen airport this morning for a helicopter ride to the rig.
He has already pulled out of a forthcoming meeting, being replaced by the FD Alistair Stobie, and wishes to be on the rig when news is known.

re chessman2, the Lincoln well was spuded on the 8th nov, and will take 45-60days to drill, I make that news between 23rd dec and 7th jan 2017. What makes you think Lincion news could be next week?

The results of the current Lincoln drill should be known to Dr Trice this weekend or early next week so we need to keep an eye open for any strange share price movements.

The good Dr T is confident as he will be on the rig to await the news and so am I. I'm convinced he has cracked it so perhaps better to buy in now at the current share price rather than next week. All will be revealed in due course.

from last fridays halifax rns..

Recognising this, Hurricane has identified a well location on Halifax (the "Halifax Well") and acquired a site survey over the prospective well location in preparation for the drilling of an exploration well. On the basis that permits can be obtained in time, Hurricane intends to drill the Halifax Well immediately following the Lincoln Well. Hurricane has extended the date of its second well option with Transocean until 25 November.

wonder if we'll see any vols suddenly kick in this pm, if news leaks when the 2nd well option is confirmed....

also, as a slight reminder of what dr trice said.... "The Halifax prospect is an extremely exciting opportunity for the Company and a logical target after this year's drilling success at Lancaster. Our exploration objective is to demonstrate that Halifax is analogous to Lancaster in that the reservoir is highly fractured and that a significant hydrocarbon column is present outside of structural closure. If we are successful in this aim, then we believe it will be a significant step in establishing the true extent of the Greater Lancaster Area. This would not only be tremendous news for the Company but also for the UK's oil and gas Industry.""

jacks,

Yes, well explained. Figure 8 is also useful, conventional closure + flank upside P10 of 790mmbbls Recoverable. That was based on model upto 2014.

This is the full explanation given by the Doctor:

'Part of Hurricane's operational planning was to have company staff present offshore. This approach arises from the author having the old-fashioned view that a geoscientist should take responsibility for his/her data, and that responsibility starts with data acquisition. While data acquisition includes wireline, testing and vertical seismic profile (VSP) witnessing, the broader context is to ensure that communication between the various disciplines for drilling, mud logging and LWD was optimized. Such an effort is considered paramount for fractured reservoir operations, as early integration of operational data is an essential step in decision making at the well site and in providing supporting information during post-operational data analysis.'
