that's just raced through my auto stop and taken me out while I was away from the screen.

Some desperate seller(s) in there for whatever reason so I've taken my medicine and out :-(

Will watch and perhaps buy back - see what the EGM says.

Forced selling still going on, may last a few more days but share buyback programme should balance that - I hope the price stays steady for a period so that the shares can be bought back cheaply. This will give a better overall outcome over the next few months.

Another positive sign IMO:

Lets face it you can always (at least often - because some are complete hard faced *astards) get CEO's Chairman abd Finance Directors to support a company's SP, after all they get big salaries and have a strong interest in keeping their company going even if they know they will lose a bit by buying shares.

As pointed out the FD only bought a few, make you judgement, he may not believe in the companies future, he may be about to leave or he may be skint, who knows.

More significant for HNT is that lots of the more junior members of the management team have just put their hands in their pocket, these guys have smaller salaries and would not feel obliged to do so if they did not think there were rich pickings to be had.

I've just topped up with all I want/can afford

By the way IMO the short term dividend is much higher that the 10% or so suggested here and from a company whose underlying performance has not been impacted to badly the current economic climate - I regard this as a very low risk play.

Take a look at this:
2007 Dividend
30/05/08 1.85p
03/10/08 0.70p
Total 2.55p - looks like ABOUT 10 % per annum

However, if the company buys back the 15% of shares they propose it enhances shares by 18%, and even assuming the same total dividend value is paid we cna add 18% to the 2007 figures. Also bear in mind that the next dividend is the final which is about 2.5 times the interim.

Therefore shares bouught now at 24p(thats what I just paid) and held for only 5 months should pay a dividend of 1.85 x 1.18 = 2.18p, thats ACTUALLY 9% in 5 five months.
A similar advantave is gained if holding for 18 months

Apologies for the woffly explanation but I think it worth pointing out how good the dividend really is and I actually think they may increase it to more than is shown above.

If theFD is by far the smallest buyer it says to me that he had his arm twisted:--

"* Tymon Broadhead, Group Finance Director, bought 12,500 ordinary shares of 50p each at 24p on 22 December 2008. This takes Mr Broadhead's holdings in Huntsworth to 0.01% of the issued class.""

All of £3,000 worth.

Marketing budgets are under very significant pressure.

PR is one of the easiest budgets to cut (Unless you are Brown/Darling).
In previous recessions I seem to remember a lot of redundencies in this industry.
PR interenal management always seemed to be the last to realise that their clients were likely to cut marketing expenditure.

Anyone know where there is a list of their cients?

Also bt in here today - thnx to QS9 on the new TIPS thread. When you see director buys of this magnitude, it surely has to be followed. Quite possible that they & Aberforth have taken out the entire L&G holding.

yep, reckon the directors bought most of the last knockings from a seller - last bit being played out it seems - you can now buy at roughly what the directors paid.

Watch for post EGM...IMO the RNS about it suggests a buy-back will happen sooner rather than later (DYOR) and therefore IMO these may start to test the 40-50p levels again soon.

Good luck.

QS9 These have always been a slow moving one during the day, I get the feeling we are in for a good auction.

This one has been beaten down & it WILL creap back up before you know it we will all be millionaires...

Be lucky & happy to see any kind of blue in this market.
