I’m having an early beer for Rabbit, I’d post a picture of it, but I think they stopped allowing that. 8:46am - this one’s for you mate, I know it’s what you would have wanted.

Some of you may not understand this, but the good times outweighed the bad by a hundred miles. And I took some pleasure from the fights, just like he did, not so much at the beginning, I was very hurt by what he did, but for the last number of years - he was good sport.

We had some adventures, I shared rooms and beers and drugs and laughs with him - and I wouldn’t do anything differently. I’d meet up with him now if he was around.

Similar to a few lines in Shawshank Redemption - maybe some people glow so bright that their fire can’t last forever - this is true for Rabbit.

So long old friend/enemy. I’ll really miss you. You touched us all and I’m sorry we didn’t make it right before you went, but maybe it was meant to be this way. I can live with it.

See you soon, but maybe not too soon. No hard feelings here. Thanks for the lessons. Love you xxxx

Guys,

I'm really sorry to have to share this news on here but Rabbit has sadly passed away.

I'm lost for words.

RIP old friend x

Evening Neo, Scube. Hope you are both faring well.

I had my first jab yesterday, for the same travel reasons. Looking forward to a Summer in the French pad.

Some good thoughts there Neo. I came from poverty and feel quite pleased with my progress, despite the persona that I put up online. My biggest issue is with imposter syndrome. Counselling, Stellar corporate performance and an MSc haven't got rid of it so I suppose it is with me forever. Best to accept such things and use them as a positive.

Regards to the floor.

Thanks Scoob, for being the flicker of life in the eye of the rubber medical doll that is the HTD thread. Maybe there’s some life left, get a drip hooked up (medicinal weed) and put the beer on ice for when it’s recovered.

Ignore the round mouth, it’s there for training purposes only, according to the instructions.

Have a great day all. Love you xx

Didn’t you ever stop to think?

Andy Dufresne robbed $370,000 from the sadistic governor of Shawshank.

Morgan Freeman just said, in his prophetic wonderfully woody toned voice - that it’s severance pay for 19 years hard labor.

It’s not much. $370,000/19 years is only $19,473 a year.

Is there any man here who would do a year in Shawshank for $19,473? It’s not a lot, what with the open beatings and sadistic rape and murder.

I’d rather be a plumber. Lots of money in a good plumbing business. If I had my time again - I’d have 10 vans and 20 employees by now, and a house looking onto the sea.

Thanks.

A couple of Take-Aways from The Professionals:

1. I’d forgotten about the blue Parker jacket with the fake fur-lined hood and bright orange lining - I only wore one for maybe 5 years.
2. They drove an old banger car around an empty field and called it action? The only action was in the producer’s bank account.
3. They’re using a gun called a 1911 - since replaced by the SF community by the Sig P229 or Glock 17 (I have the Glock). The 1911 is more ornamental now and is known for ‘stove-piping’ - an error in ejecting the spent cartridge. They not known for reliability and magazine capacities are very limited by today’s standards.
4. Bodie’s 70’s fashion sense is better than Rabbit’s 2000’s fashion sense.
5. Everyone is angry. Response to bad news - anger. Someone disagrees with them - anger. Anger everywhere.
6. My dog is snoring so he gives it the double-hoofs down. 0 stars from my dog Derek.

Are we old yet?

Anyone know a good gardener in Las Vegas?

Drop me a line below. Interviews are being held at my local pub at lunchtime today. Candidates who drink on the job are preferred, but it’s not necessary so long as they tame the beast of a garden I have.

Thanks in advance.

Need A Gardener (and a pool guy, although I’ve learned to keep the water balanced after 6 years of owning a green pond. We won’t mention the 2 water changes and acid wash it took me to get there)

HTD Observation:

If you google Rabbit’s name you get links to the HTD thread. I was looking for news, in relation to my previous question.

I googled myself and the results are a lot less interesting.

Thanks.

Quick question for the ‘Fellows of HTD’ (not STD):

Is Rabbit still with us? Or has he already found out that ‘there’ is more real than ‘here’?

Thanks in advance.

Morning tout le monde.

My first thought today is - how can they be sure that everybody was Kung Fu fighting?

Think about it. Was someone there to check? What about the guys playing instruments? Surely they weren’t Kung Fu fighting? The singer? He’s doing well if he can sing like that and do Kung Fu at the same time? Like Neo from The Matrix or something, doing Kung Fu while having a conversation with Morpheus - and we saw that happen - so no questions there.

Some questions don’t have answers it seems, so let’s see where the questions take us, similar to a ship cast adrift without a rudder.

Evening Scoob.

It’s nice to see the old HTD thread ticking along, even if it is because I’m reviving it for the 12th time. Rabbit keeps letting it die because he’s uninteresting and has nothing to say outside council house bickering and insightful comments such as ‘your old mam’s crack smells of maggots’.

Shocking isn’t interesting after a while, which is the same as his haircut. He needs to be more like me, suave and debonair, I can tell canned coke from bottled coke in a sip, and I know how to eat in public, with a knife and fork and everything.

I hope you’re well old friend.

Great film, one of my all time favourites (only film I've watched more is Zulu)

Good to see you keeping your hand in, Neo.

Good Morning to our HTD movie watchers.

Today’s offering is a throw-back to 80’s hair and Laura Ashley soft furnishings for the home. It’s a movie I liked when I was a kid, which is quite some time ago.

Google ‘the final option lewis Collins’ and you’ll find it on Amazon. A good movie with a porno sound-track - something to please everyone.

‘On me, Boys’ says asthmatic Neo before he asks for a minute to get his breath back and a quick smoke.

Welcome back to the nobody show!

Because the audience are already dead or dying (true whatever way you read it, or don’t), and only a few people really care.

Whenever I’m home - the dogs sleep, but when I leave, they’re restless. It’s the same for the HTD thread, but different, and the other way around. Naturally.

Thanks for everything, which is probably very little.

Shout out to an amazing Englishman - David Ditchfield.

Check out his story and paintings. Really cool, a man touched by the divine.
