Yes, I've traded options many a time. In general, as a rule of thumb, they should be sold short, as you pick up the premium on them 80-90% of the time.

However, its dangerous, as the other 10-20% of the time, you can suffer limitless losses, in theory.

My advice, for what its worth, is to avoid them, unless you have a bit of info on an individual stock...

I see your POV, but I’m not sure we know all the facts because this thing originated from China, and we all know how the Chinese would rather ‘save face’ than tell the truth.

So, today, I’m taking it seriously, until we know the truth about it. Rather an over-reaction and more survive, than no reaction and many die?

It is my considered opinion that the markets represent a generational opportunity to pick up quality at bargain prices. Yes, they could go a bit lower short term, but they will be considerably higher within 6 months- 2 years imvso.

If you had 10 units to invest, I would put 5 in now, and 1 a month over the next 5 months. Quality companies only, with minimal debt. JDW LN is an example of one.

Short sharp recession, Neo, imv. Historically the economy tends to recover quickly after such things as governments have the cover to chuck money at it and (I don't mean this in a dispassionate way but it is fact) those who die tend to be the more unproductive members of society.

You've got it worse in America as Trump has made such a hash of it and the testing debacle as well as the healthcare system not being well-suited to dealing with this sort of thing. I think it will be the end of Trump (if Biden doesn't die).
